I went to Vanity after two people recommended it, and found out the hard way that you should just drive to Richmond, even in this economy. I asked for a specific haircut, showed her a picture and the stylist barely glanced at it before she started hacking away. I immediately noticed that she was cutting it way too short for this style. I told her it is cut too short, but she just said that it will look different after it is dry, which is when she likes to shape it. She kept asking me if I would straighten my hair or leave it curly. The picture I showed her is straight! Her styling was ridiculous, she was trying to leave it as wavy as possible. I straighten my hair every day and told her so. She attempted anyway to not straighten it. Now I know that this is to cover up the awful horizontal lines that were on the side of my head. One side was CLEARLY shorter than the other!! She was simply quiet after I mentioned this. I absolutely hated it , the way it was styled, and the fact that it was about 1 and a half inches shorter on one side. When It was done, I was not offered any compensation but told that she would make a note that I liked my hair longer on the one side. No Idiot, I like it even!! When I got home, I got two second opinions from other licensed cosmetologists. They both said the exact same thing that it was very obviously uneven and the back was a mystery and unblended. Both people wanted to know if I went to someone licensed. They said I should get my money back or at least half, since I only got half of my hair cut correctly.I can only guess that after she butchered the first side, she wised up cut the other side right. I have never had such bad hair in my life. I know hairstylists have bad days, but if you don't know how to cut a particular style, you should say so before you ruin someone's hair!!! The other put-off was the clutter of the salon. Cords all around your feet in the chair was a total hazard. Just very uncomfortable place with bad artwork.!
