This pet store is much better than most. Most pet stores like Petsmart and Petco will buy their fish and small animals like rats and guinea pigs from animal farms where animals are allowed to inbreed and are generally kept in large quantities and in large, unclean bins until they are sold to these pet stores who, in turn, sell them to the public and market them as fine, healthy specemin. Valley Pets breeds their own pets to ensure that that inbreeding does not occur so that the pets that you buy from them are not handicapped, retarded or as prone to disease/ mental illnesses. I was very glad to hear that they do this. A+ for customer service and knowledge the employees have of the animals and merchandise they sell there. more

Very knowledgable, honest, and friendly staff! 2/26/2012

We have had the best experiences at this store. Lil Dave is very friendly & honest. He expects nothing other than the same. Dewey is equally as nice & helpful. We've gained a lot of knowledge through the time that they have spent with us teaching us about aquariums & fish personalities. They also offer great deals - some things are higher than other places- but overall- I love this place and look forward to our visits! Thank you! more

greatest pet store ever 1/23/2012

My family and I have been going here for the last 2 years and they are super friendly and helpful. I have bought rats, snake cages and even a cat and they have been awsome. If you are looking for a great staff with lots of insite then this is the place to go. Thanks L Dave for being so honest and hardworking. more

I have been going to valley pet for over 1o years they are very friendly helpfull and they make you feel like like family .I stand behind them 100%. When I had my fire they were there before the fire was out to get my fish and animals ,so what other pet store would do that, ? none they dont care one way or another. love the place 4/10/2011

i have been going there for 4 years and i still love the place.I shop for fish and fish supplies and i love to look around and see all the snakes and dogs.Of all the fish i have gotten none have died on me and they are still growing strong, including my beautiful silver arowana that is now 2 feet long...If you think this is a normal pet store your sadly mistaken i have seen them have piranha, gar, giant plecos,wolf fish, a king brooks and hognose snakes.....all in all there is a great crew and plenty of happy future pets..i will gladly shop there again .................. more

Family Owned 2/9/2011

I like this place. We called all over the Springs looking for a used aquarium when mine began leaking. This place and one other even offered to help me! I found a lovely tank at a more than reasonable price.\r \r It is not as 'clean' as a corporate run store, but i prefer support anything 'mom and pop'. The people are great. I'll definately go back!\r \r Worst thing I can say is they have a snake by the cash register. They are great and never make be get close to the little buggar.\r \r If you want to save some cash and have a great selection at a great price...Valley Pets is where you want to go. more

This place has bad customer service,and the place is really dirty, and be careful if you buy something from there check their return policy,they will lie to you about being able to return item like tank accesories for exchange if they dont work. more

Friendly Place 8/15/2010

Animals well taken care of, went to them for all our fresh feeder mice, rats and bunnys as our boa grew, very healthy feeders never had a problem with mites with them. Also bought other small pets, as well as pet bunnys, all very healthy and very friendly. the staff is very friendly but they dont attack you like car sharks either. They also found our boa a very nice home when we decided she wasn't fitting into her old enclosure. We've bout feeder fish for our big oscar as well. overall they are very helpful, friendsly and sport a good variation of products and animals. They're dry goods do tend to have a little dust on them from time to time but then again what store doesn't exspecially with so many reptiles and other animals to care for. more

Dirty, dirty, place 11/23/2009

The staff member did not know what he was talking about when I inquired about frozen mice. The place is filthy, there are dirty cages and aquariums all over the place. Their animals are kept in filthy cages and are WAY overpriced. Their snakes had some really bad sheds going on, they had pieces of skin hanging off them from previous sheds. The whole place stinks, you can tell that is hasn't been cleaned in a while. It was just an overall bad experience. Will not be going back. Pros: Lots of tanks and aquariums to choose from Cons: But EVERYTHING is dirty and covered in cobwebs and dirt more

Horrible! Do not support this business! 7/20/2009

Dirty and the animals are not well taken care of. Please look at your local rescue or humane society before purchasing a pet from this store. With the harsh reality that if you do save one of these poor animals they will just be replaced with another. If this store does not make money off of the animals they cage, the store will no longer sell them. more

Unkept and dirty! 2/17/2009

I am truly amazed that this place has stayed open and has not been shut down by proper authorities. The entire store was unkept and dirty. The animals were not kept clean and most of them did not appear to be healthy enough to sell. The staff did not even seem to know very much about animals. The store was so unorganized that they probably could not even find what they were selling. I definately would not recommend purchasing any living creature from this place. Cons: Poor animals more
