Valley's best pet care 8/17/2011

I’ve taken my own dogs and our rescue dogs to University Animal Hospital for almost 20 years. From the receptionists to the nurses, doctors and kennel staff, everyone is professional, courteous, competent and caring. Every pet is important. The veterinary care is exceptional. The vets and nurses take their time and answer questions– I know that all of our dogs are getting the best care possible. The extended hours make it easy to get an appointment at any time, any day and I can relax knowing that dogs in boarding are immediately taken care of for any health problems. The kennel stuff shows great concern for the well-being of every pet. What impresses me most about UAH is that the employees are a real team. They all give 100% (at least) and it’s obvious that they love what they do. more

Highly Recommend 8/17/2011

I have been taking my pets to University Animal Hospital for 20 years. There is no one better. Everyone there is professional and extremely helpful. The front staff is efficient and friendly, the vet techs answer all of my questions, and the vets I have seen, Dr Flegenheimer and Dr Tascon are the best vets ever. They are excellent diagnosticians, and so kind to my pets and to me. I appreciate the staff at this hospital and would never consider going to another hospital. more

Best Vet Care in the Valley 8/13/2011

I’ve taken my own dogs and our rescue dogs to University Animal Hospital for almost 20 years. From the receptionists to the nurses, doctors and kennel staff, everyone is professional, courteous, competent and caring. They are open extended hours so I feel comfortable knowing that I can get a sick dog treated promptly. The veterinary care is exceptional. The vets and nurses take their time and answer questions– I know that all of our dogs are getting the best care possible. When I leave dogs in boarding, I don't have to worry about medical care - they are on on top of everything all the time. They all give 100% (at least) and it’s obvious that they love what they do. more

I should have been filling this out each time I come here. The doctor is amazing, he is wonderful with the animals. He is very polite and fill of knowledge which he communicate to us clearly. The front desk personnel is the perfect balance of efficient, warm and welcoming. more

Genuine and Caring 8/2/2011

The desk staff is very friendly and competent. I am always greeted warmly as soon as I walk through the front door. Andrea, my groomer is wonderful! And Dr. Gus is so genuine and caring. I know I always get the best care and treatments. The other vets I have seen here are also very nice too. I recommend this animal hospital to everyone I know. more

I cannot say enough good things about this vet hospital. The pricing is fair, the hours are great and the staff is exceptional!! I would never go anywhere else! I am always impressed after my visit and really feel well taken care of!!\r ***To the displeased customer that recently posted...shame on you for owning a dog in the first place!! You have no business owning a pet you cannot afford to take care of! Pets require care and care is not free...anywhere!! That poor dog unfortunately had the bad luck of being owned by you...if only it had gotten lucky enough to be owned by some else that could actually give it a good life! You are the one to blame...*** more

Devoted University Animal Hospital Client 1/19/2011

To the Doctors and Staff of University Animal Hospital: We have been clients of University Animal Hospital for over 30 years. We have seen it grow from a small veterinary clinic started by Dr. Thomas Gus to a state of the art veterinary hospital with the ability to treat any type of medical condition. The facilities are always clean and both myself and our doggies are greeted by the friendly members of the University Animal Hospital team each time we visit. The doctors are the Best in the Veterinary business. They have a genuine compassion about our pets and their healthcare. We have enjoyed raising 5 puppies starting off their great care with the Puppy Plan at the Hospital. They have received the highest level of care throughout their years and healthy long lives being managed by the doctors at University Animal Hospital. They have overseen our pet's care during crisis situations. Dr. Gus waited for us at 10:30 pm one evening when our German Shephard was struck by a car and fully recovered from his injuries thanks to his care. Dr. Flegeneheimer assisted our Lab through a serious bout of pneumonia with tender loving care. We have had to put 3 of our dogs down after the battle of old age. The compassion and caring they showed us during this period was amazing - even giving us a small clay footprint as a keepsake. The medical service and customer service is outstanding. I will remain a devoted customer of University Animal Hospital for years to come. Thanks to all the doctors and staff for being available for our four-legged family! Mary Clifton more

Quality Care and Compassion 12/7/2010

I have been taking my pets to University Veterinary Hospital for almost 10 years now. I can’t say enough about the level of compassion and care that Dr. Gus and his entire staff, from Doctors to Technicians, Receptionist and the Kennel team has given to me and all of my four legged family. I have only high praises for this outstanding facility, and in my opinion, whether my pets are being seen for their yearly exams or facing a medical emergency, UVH will do everything possible to ensure the best outcome for my pets. UVH offers such a wide variety of specialties so I know what ever may happen with my pets, the very best care will be immediately available. The extended evening and weekend hours give me the flexibility to make an appointment that accommodates my schedule. I highly recommend University Veterinary Hospital to anyone who is searching for the highest quality of care available for their pets. more

Just want to say a big THANK YOU to the staff and Doctors at University Animal Hospital. The expertise of the staff at this hospital goes above and beyond the normal animal hospital. They work very hard to get me in when those "emergencies" hit my beloved pets - having 14 dogs and 1 cat it seems like there is always one that needs something. You can't find a better facility or staff in Arizona! more

Great job 9/8/2010

Hello!\r My Chihuahua, Frida, is a frequent guest at the University Animal Hospital Pet Resort and a patient also. She is a rescue girl who we have had for two years; and she can be a little shy/skittish. The caregivers at the pet resort are so good to her and seem to really love her; and she loves them back. I never worry when I leave her with such caring people. She is always a "happy camper" and I am too knowing she is so well taken care of. Great job!! Hugs, Peg Darnell (Frida's Mom) more

Our dog Rowdy 5/22/2010

Our dog Rowdy had surgery and to my surprise--the Vet called us at 8:00 pm to check on him to make sure he was ok. He was 14 and when he died years later, they also made that experience livable. They were professional, caring, understanding, and they really cared for the animals they took care of. I would recommend they to all my friends. more

Best Vet hospital there is 4/5/2010

I have ben a long time client and cannot even imagine going to any other vets. My dogs and reptiles get excellent care there. Yje equipment is state of the art and the facility is attractive, bright and open. And by the way, the art work on the walls is awesome!!! The doctors are up on the latest procedures and meds. They take time to explain things thoroughly and are always friendly and caring towards both clientssand their pets. This also goes for the large staff of receptionists, vet techs and kennel techs. Emergencies are handled quickly and efficiently. Owners of pets having had surgery or animals staying at the hospital are kept informed on a continuing basis of the condition of their animlals and the progress that is being made towards good health. The boarding facility is spacious and kept scrupulously clean. It is truly a PET RESORT where pets get loving care. This is a great place. Just ask my dogs!!!!   • University Animal Hospital is a complete small animal veterinary facility and a full-service boarding and grooming facility. Located in Tempe, University Animal Hospital was est. in 1962. It is the 2nd oldest veterinary practice in the entire east valley. The hospital moved to a new building in 1996 for which it won a national award due to how its specifically designed and constructed to facilitate better care of small animals. Our boarding facility includes 157 dog suites (indoor & outdoor) & 48 cat condos (indoor) available for owners to entrust their pets with us when they are away.
    In addition to spaying, neutering, micro-chipping, pet vaccinations, pet declawing and other veterinary services, University Animal Hospital offers many specialty services such as laser surgery, dentistry, endoscopy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and EKG. We also have an exotic/reptile Veterinarian on staff.
