THINK TWICE! 4/12/2012

The ONLY reason that they got 2 stars is the Doctor was very nice gentle and personable. EVERYTHING ELSE get no stars. Slow check in even slower check out and then they LIED and over charged me- I was told one price on the phone and charged double. I love my dog but I am on a budget. I was too lazy to drive across town and see what happens! They care more about the money and sticking it to people. The front desk area is more then disorganized they even lost one ladies refund check and she has to now go back there again tomorrow. Would I recommend them? NOPE not unless you can afford to throw money away unnecessarily. I love my dog and dont mind paying for her but to get ripped off because of it left a very bad taste in my mouth. I wont be returning and will let everyone I know that have pets to be wary of them more

The Best In the City! 5/11/2011

We see Dr. Arn every year for our annual exams( we have 4 dogs!) for the last 10 years. When Dr. Arn is not available, we will see other vets in the hospital since we trust them all with the care of our pets. They have always been honest and given us great service for all these years. The staff is always friendly to my family and willing to help us with our needs. My wife and myself have recommended them to our friends for years and we usually run into each other on appointment dates! This is really a family-feeling business in las vegas! more

Ms. 4/18/2011

I have found Desert Inn a bit expensive, but they have all of the latest of everything including difficult to keep on hand medications and these things must be paid for. Excellent staff. Office help could be a bit friendlier. But I can live with that since the overall care is so good. more

Best Vets EVER!!! 3/17/2011

EXCELLENT VET!!! DON'T LISTEN TO THE ONE HORRIBLE REVIEW BEING RE-POSTED UNDER DIFFERENT NAMES FORM THE SAME REVIEW SITE! Yes, it's on the pricey end, but you are getting the VERY BEST, most up-to-date care money can buy! I have worked for another vet, and I still took my dogs and cat here. I am a 15+ year client!! more

Love this Place! <3 2/4/2011

i love this place! There is more compassion and caring people in this hospital than you get at most clinics.! I have been a client with Desert Inn Animal Hospital for 3 years. I began bringing in a rescue pet to them from a local shelter for a FREE wellness check and have stayed with them ever since. With 2 more rescues since that time, I have to say, the negative reviews surprise me. I have had such a great experience with the Doctors and Staff there, they are always willing to answer questions and try and educate their clients on issues ( I was impressed that I was able to get some further info on my dogs Thyroid issues from the front desk staff!) The girls have given us great homemade recipes for our sensitive tummy puppies and I have had great interactions with all the people there. The negative feedback sounds like it comes from people that simply want everything for free and think of their pets as a problem rather then part of the family. As with any business, there are always c more

Unfriendly expensive place 8/24/2010

The staff at the front desk is very unfriendly and talks to you in a very militant manner. They are not helpful when you come in with more than one pet. Good luck trying to control two or three pets, specially when there are other animals around. The prices for everything are very high. I have lived in other areas of NV and have used other vet clinics, and by far, this is the most expensive one. I am glad I will no longer be using this clinic. more

Best Vet in the world 8/17/2010

I have been going to Desert Inn for many years. My friends and family have also taken their pets there for over 20 years. They are very competent and have very good bedside manner. The stories I'm reading that are bad reviews are obviously from bad owners whom haven't established a life time DVM for their so-called babies. You should be ashamed of yourselves for not having a regular vet! Don't bash this Vet hospital for your mistakes. They have the best technology available and always keeping up. Thank you especially Dr. Arn for keeping all my bulldogs healthy and happy over the years! And pricing is more than reasonable. For those upset about the money, shows just how much your "babies" are worth to you. You can't put a price on them even if a second opinion is necessary. Thanks again Desert Inn. more

HORRIBLE PLACE-HORRIBLE PEOPLE 6/10/2010

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL PLACE staffed with uncaring, incomptent people. If you value the life and well being of your pet, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take them to this place! If you do, you most certainly will be sorry. We are, and frankly, we're having a really hard time forgiving ourselves for ever taking our babies to these dreadful people. PLEASE STAY AWAY! more

Desert Inn Animal Hospital is the worst 12/23/2009

Desert Inn Animal Hospital is the worst place you could take your pet, don't take your pet there unless you are ready to put them down, poor vet service, more guessing than knowing. They are all about the money not the pet, I thought you needed to have some compation to work with animals, but not here. Bad place, take your pet and run to another vet hospital. more

Pit bull lovers 1/30/2009

No doubt about it, this hospital is bully dog friendly. My puppy, a Red Nose Pit, got her ears cropped here... The staff is very friendly and caring. Keep up the good work. Thank you Dr. Arn!! Much respect, 2 Sweet Girls Janice & Sonya more

BEWARE! they killed my baby of 13 years. some1 should be held accountable 8/15/2008

If you love your pet, DO NOT go here. In short, I was pushed through without any real concern as to what happened to my dog. Every time I called, I waited for a long time just to be told some b.s. Hundreds of dollars later, they sent him home with me, only to have him collapse later that night. When returning, a Dr. Tylor took over and wanted to run the same battery of tests and blood work on him AGAIN. Of course, I would be charged again! She then tells me that she wants to do a blood transfusion! And I would not be able to stay with him, even know he most likely would not make it through the night. I laughed, got my dog and drove him to a competent clinic. Which, by no surprise, he did not need a transfusion, in fact he had a horrible case of pneumonia. Which Desert Inn never saw after doing all those x-rays. It is too bad that they did not take me and my dog serious. He ended up with a fatal case of pneumonia. It should of been caught with all of the so called tests I was more

Almost killed my dog 4/4/2008

Do not take your dog to Dr. Dan, he is horrible and almost killed my dog. Beware of him, he acts like he knows what he is doing, but my dog was very sick and I took him to another clinic where the doctors were more experienced and they saved my dog. The other doctor said that Dr. Dan had nearly drowned my dog with fluids!! He ended up with pneumonia, but was saved after a huge bill, which I had to pay!! more

The BEST!!! 8/13/2007

When I took my dog in she was very ill and they were absolutletly wonderful. Actually I had taken my dog in3 times in one day and though we had to see different Vets each time they all seemed to care very much about my baby. Finally admitting her into ICU. I was relieved. I called several times to check on my baby and each time they were kind and happy to hear from me. Finally diagnosed with Addisons disease she was given her meds and recovered. Though she still needs a very expensive shot each month they have actually sold me the meds and needles and showed me how to give them to her myself. This saves me a lot of money overall. They are the perfect example of a vet who cares and isn't just out for the money. I trust them with my dogs life. You should too!!! They are the best in my opinion. more

Not That Great 3/17/2007

The doctors at Desert Inn are great, but some of the receptionists and assistants are quite rude. You can have an appointment and still wait an hour. It seems they are just out to make a buck and don't care about the service you receive. I now go to Sahara Animal Hospital where they know the meaning of good customer service! more

best vets in town 9/17/2005

Desert Inn Animal Hospital is a great place to take you animals for medical care. The entire staff is devoted to the care of your animal and making sure you are comfortable with being there. I drive 15 miles past many other vets to take my dog there. I have worked with all of the dr. and they are all great people to work with. Everyone of them spends the time with you to make sure your pet is cared for in a way you want to be treated yourself. more

not given the whole story 8/1/2005

I got a puppy from Puppy Planet. It was very sick when got him, we realized when we gotten him home. Long story, read my review for them. The pet shop had told us to take him to was this vet for a checkup. They told me he had bordetella. I asked if he'd been sick when they saw him the week before. I was told no. The vet agreed with me that he was a puppy mill dog. It seemed the whole appointment was devoted to trying to sell me products. Then when I told the pet shops owner what the vet had said about the dogs origins, she lied to him when he spoke with her, making me look like the liar. I later learned that the pup had been treated there for bordetella there from a pet shop employee. They then refused to give his records to my vet when he wasn't responding well to treatment. They protected the pet shop and puppy mill operation he came from with their refusal and put my little pup's life in jeopardy! I think this was shameful! THANK GOD for The Mauer Clinic!! They saved his life!! more

Best Vet Care 7/31/2005

Desert Inn Animal Hospital, Dr. Arn in particular, saved my dog's life after I'd messed around with half a dozen incompetent vets. He operated to remove bladder stones and discovered she had a bowel disease. Since then, he is the only vet I trust with my dogs' care. It's not real convenient to my house and there is sometimes a wait but it's well worth it. I will also say that they don't price gouge. In fact, Dr. Arn often waives his office fee. I highly recommend them. PROS: Outstanding care, clean, professional, caring staff, emergency care CONS: more

Mixed Feelings 7/28/2005

My parents have taken their pets here for years and have been great to them. Especially in emergencies. However, I've taken my pet there and have had extremely long waits. A few ladys in the staff are rude. Overall, I wouldn't recommend them because there are much better animal hospitals out there. more

Poodles 7/28/2005

My poodles are comfortable going here. The staff is friendly and courteous. The only thing I don't like about this vet is particularly the wait. I have to take my pets in about 20 mins early to make sure that I get in at least 10 mins after my schedules appointment. Also checking out the wait is very long too. I enjoy the doctors there, they are very nice and seem to care for my pets like their own. I would recommend them to anyone. more
