Fun to browse, but pricey 8/14/2006

I was recently walking around on Newbury St. and was delighted to find this store (I'd never been in one before, just seen the catalogues), and decided to go in and have a look. There are two stories of things to look through--the first floor is full of books, novelties, and house wares (mostly bedding and a few pieces of furniture). Upstairs is where they keep the men's and women's clothing. I enjoyed browsing through their trendy, bohemian-style clothing, but don't have the budget to buy many things from Urban Outfitters, unfortunately. I peg this place as the "cool" and bohemian version of Abercrombie & Fitch, but unfortunately the prices are about the same. I would only buy things from here if I felt I could not find them elsewhere for a better price. more

Trendy clothing .. on the pricey though.. 3/21/2006

I enjoy coming to Urban Outfitters, located on the corner of Newbury Street and Mass Ave. It has two levels, the first level with home goods and books, and the upstairs has women's and men's clothing. It is a decent sized store. The home goods section is filled with crazy designed pillows, bed decor, and hanging lanterns. The books are funny too - usually about sex, adolescence, or alcohol. The clothing, I like looking at it, but I only buy it if I absolutely love it because it is on the pricey side. They have brands such as Free People, Diesel, Levis, Lux, and Converse. They sell mostly casual wear, as well as some hoodies and t-shirts. They sell for retail, and I don't often look at the sale rack because it is small and cramped. The Urban Outfitters in Harvard Square has an awesome bargain basement where prices are very very affordable (aka super cheap!). more

Trendy but expensive clothing 3/21/2006

I do love to browse in Urban Outfitters in Faneuil Hall but I can't buy anything. The clothes are very trendy but expensive. T-shirts are often 25 plus dollars. This is definately not in my budget. One thing though is that if you are looking for a gift for someone, they have a lot of knick knacks type gag gifts for anyone. This is often a hang out for college kids, especially the one in Harvard Square, but I still like it. more
