Felt during my pregnancy every detail of any symptoms or out of the average/norm test results were scrutinized carefully (almost to the point of ignoring my sense of true well being, generally peaceful, enjoyable pregnancy and erring mostly on the negative concerned side but I felt this was ok, or I could handle this, as long as I could keep my positive attitude up through it and felt comfy with non-intrusive erring on the safe side). It all worked out nicely, I loved being pregnant and I have a healthy child today.
However, afterward/Postpartum, it is exactly the opposite, but still LOL with the general lack of confidence of Upstate in my own ability to sense my body's general well being. Any concerns I have had over the next 3.5 years were disregarded. Any irregularities or out of the norm results or symptoms are basically ignored with the wait and see until next year's appointment and see if there are resolved. There is no professional curiosity to explore the concerns or diagnose what is causing the symptoms. Any action that is taken is pushed through by myself and any investigating is instigated by myself. I have had considerable concerns recently, feeling symptoms should not be ignored and causes found. Especially considering we want to try to get pregnant again. If I had received a couple official diagnosis along the way, it would have helped me understand what was happening with my body. It feels to me they don't have much confidence in a patients intuition and feelings regarding their own body nor do they feel it necessary to keep me in the loop with diagnosis that could be shared with me...
I am looking for a new OBGYN/Gyno, one who listens to my intuitions and concerns, or lack of, and lets me be an active and informed participant in my medical treatment.
Pros: Dedicated Staff, helpful nurses....Doctor is kind.
Cons: Treatment Postpartum and Extended Nursing not well supported
