thank god i'm not the only one! they just charged me again for another $50. i feel so dumb just handing out my credit card number away so easily, but i guess thats why its called a scam! seeing all these people in the same situation makes me feel better in a way, but it also makes me mad that these people are still getting away with this. if youre reading this, then they probably already got you, but if not, your a lucky one, dont trust anyone with your credit card number!!! more

Well this company is still out there to this date. They tried to get me and I fell for it. The story goes like this: They called me with an offer of a free $100 gift card for Target if I tried there club. They said that if I canceled my subscription with in 7 days I would not be charged and I could keep the $100 Target gift card. So I said OK. I got the $100 gift card and it was a piece of sh**. Too many restriction and I never used it. I never got any info on the Universal Buyers Club but they did charge my credit card. I called and they wanted something like $940 dollars from me!!!! Any way, long story short, I got them to take off the charges on my credit card. Then, just to make sure I reported the card as stolen and got a new account number. Be careful out there. BTW: They already had my Target credit card information, they just charged it. I don’t know how they got that info. Pros: Not very smart more

I agreed to accept a free trial of some products and ended up not getting anything. Every time I tried to cancel the ""membership"" I could not get in touch with anyone. I never even received a bill until Saturday which said I was ""behind in my payments for my club membership"". I asked them why it was that they were charging me for a service that I never received and they kept asking me how I wanted to take care of the $104. they said I was behind instead of the full $400. they wanted. I told them to sue me and he said, ok how do you want to pay for the $104. you are behind today? I told them to F*** Off and hung up. A ""supervisor"" then called me back to ""handle"" my account. I hung up on him as well. I believe they try to bully people into sending them money without providing any services. Cons: They are con artists more

About a month ago I recieved a letter to my husband saying he joined this club, he never did. I called and cancelled. Yesterday, i recieved a bill for 69 to be paid immediately. Today they tood 35 bucks out of my account. Then told my hubby that we needed it. Now essetially this is a coupon clipping service. I do not live in a town that has ANY of these places. We have a Safeway and a walmart. Why in satans name would I pay 40 bucks a month for this crap? we dont have any chain restraunts, we dont have an airport, no mall. I hate places that use your card from a purchase online to start charging your card, isnt that illegal? Pros: nothing Cons: fraud more

They tried to get me too. I have been getting phone calls from them for the last 2 months saying I owed them money. The funny thing was they already tried to get money from my fathers account that I have no information about. After 2 months of calls they finally sent me a invoice in the mail. So I looked them up on the internet and found this page which I was so glad of because I wasn't sure if this was a scam or not. Reading your posts helped a lot. When I called them about the bill because thankfully I never sent them money in any form. They kept saying they had a recording of me agreeing to sign up for there services. When I asked them to play it they sent me to a supervisor. When he said he had it I just asked again for him to play it. He put me on hold and I waited then he came back with another offer and when I said no he just told me he was canceling my account and hung up. I just thought I would post this as a thanks because these posts helped and hopefully my experience with this will help others. OK apparently I need a rating of this company and since I can't give it a zero I guess I have to give it a one. Cons: Fraud more

dont except this .. it is a lie... they are frud. they got me for my money.. and sent a real 4grand check from a real company which is a plastic company.. they lied that it wasnt them . the check is real but you will do jail time.. the lady who answer says its a walmart card and gas card bull shit.these africans and indians are thieves. they get your credit card and do whatever with it. please dont do this. they will give you the run around, and tell you to go look online..looking it up online will get you here. there is no official site for them.. con artists Pros: fraud Cons: fraud more

they call me every day and try to get me to to something else ,i live in nashvill tn. and i work and they call at all diff. types of hours were i cannot sleep to go to work im really pissed off at these people and today they tell me i get a free $100 gift card im like ok?? so i call the number and they tell me i need to pay 5.95 for shipping, 1 if it was true the gift card dosent even weigh an ounce so why so much money for shipping and handling? lol i knew it was a scam when i heard that so why dont we all exspose them on like 20/20 or 60 minutes? ill do the leg work if you all want to get involved? let me know guys because this is uncalled for and we work to hard for our money, reps nice or not there still running a scam.. They called me at home claiming to be my bank saying is your debit card this? And read off the numbers, cuz i was hesitant i'm like ya it is must be my bank then, sir thanks for being a loyal customer of our bank we'd like to send you 100 dollar gift card to walmart for being a loyal customer, then went on about this magazine trial and I hung up on them, later I get a letter saying congratulations your on a 7 day trial to the universal buying club. I called them up, and was still polite to the lady said I did not sign up for this take me off and don't ever bill me! After many scripts of trying to get me to stay after I said no repeatedly she took me off.... so I thought. 3 days later I get 2 diff charges adding up to 96 dollars. I""m furious! These reviews are in 2008 and this is end of 2009 now that this happened. I can't believe this company has not been caught yet! The owner should be in jail! I'm currently trying to get my money back, thank god my bank rocks and will probably reinburse me the charge and go after that company legally. I am never EVER touching my phone again from a number I do not recognize, its' scary what information people have, and what they try and do to steal your hard earned money! Pros: NONE! Its really pretty simple. I told them that i was signed up for this ""program"" without my permission. The person on the phone said, ""well how about you try it out for a week and if im not satisfied just call back"". A week later i called back and said (just sweet talk them) ,"" i was signed up for this program without my permission but i said what the hell ill try it out for a week and uh its just not workin out for me"". She said asked for my account info which was sent in the mail, and on my account was actually notes that said something like,"" customer was unsatisfied if they call back then cancell the account"". i just got my check 07-26-08 and i called back after my week on 07-22-08. i hope they are as cooperating with you as they were with me. i know your really upset but call in a nice manner explain what happened and hopefully get your weeks trial. I never subscribed to this company. My brother used my credit card without me knowing and i checked my bank statement online and noticed that there was an unauthorized transaction on my account. I called that 800 number and was told that they reimbursed me on 03-10-2008. Todays date is 03-13-2008. Tomorrow will make four days that i still haven't received a refund. Now I have to resort to civil action. Even after I told the associate, whose name is amy, that I didn't authorize it she still failed to refund me. THIS IS THE WORST SCAM EVER! Cons: CON ARTIST more

I didn't even sign up for this! I had signed up with another company to get magizines and apparently they signed me up for this also without even mentioning the Buying Club therefore they DID NOT have my permission. I would advise anyone signing up with a telemarketing magizine company to be aware that they are connected with the Buying Club and may sign you up with out you knowing about it. When I called to cancel with the Buying Club the rep. I spoke with was actually very nice and understanding, but I did let her know about the reviews that others posted about cancelling and then still being charged. I just told her that if I ever had another charge from them I would take legal action (which I reccommend anyone else cancelling with them to do just in case.) I hope that I have no more problems but if I do I will certainly write another review to inform others! Pros: Costumer Service Rep I spoke with was good. WARNING: This so-called ""company"" is a complete ripoff. They charge you for a service you never receive. They have THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! They charged my card for 94.40 even after I cancelled my worthless membership. Then when I demanded my refund of my money I was given the run around and made to wait with no resolve. Finally under the threat of class action suit they reluctantly electronically transferred my money back to me. Convienently for them on a wednesday before a holiday weekend thus causing an even greater delay in the refund. DO NOT JOIN THIS FRAUDULENT CLUB!!!
