United Methodist Communities at The Shores

I am very happy and content at The Shores At Wesley Manor. The help here is unbelievable. It's great. They are always there when you need them and they are always trying to help you. If they see you sitting down, they ask if you are alright and if you need any help. If you cannot be in your home, this is the best place to be. They will take care of you. If there is something wrong with your apartment, they will be right over to fix it. I have no complaints, it's great. I would recommend it to anybody. I am thrilled with it. The residents and the patients, everybody is nice. more

Well, it takes some getting used to, but what you make of The Shores at Wesley Manor is up to you. The people are friendly, there is always someone to talk to. There are so many things you can get involved in! I didn't want to give up my home and it was the only alternative because my daughter is down here and she can keep tabs on me more easily. The attention is unbelievable even up on the third floor in rehab they were wonderful, they were always available to help at any time. I can truly say that not a one of them has given a fresh answer or acted annoyed. They always acknowledge me when they see me. This is the place to be I've even told my friends who have called me and I said if you ever have to go somewhere you should come here! There is nothing to compare it to in North Jersey, it really rates highly. They are very accommodating when it comes to meals. For example, today I didn't want mashed potatoes so I asked if I could have macaroni and cheese, and while it took a little longer to prepare they were able to accommodate me and it was delicious and they really went out of their way to do it for me, and they do that with everyone! I am also so pleased with my apartment. There is a man here by the name of Lee, and he is fantastic. If there is a problem he sees to it that its fixed right away. more

The Shores at Wesley Manor is what I wanted: someplace I'd be comfortable, safe, and looked after. They've done everything, the food is good, the service is good, the place is immaculately clean and everybody is very warm and friendly, including the other residents! If it's a place you're looking for you couldn't find one better. I'm glad to be here! more

I recommend The Shores at Wesley Manor all the time. Both my parents were there, and have been for going on four years now. Their services are excellent. We've benefited from their assisted living, their medical, and their memory services. It's really the staff that makes it. We've become close with them and they are very dedicated. I feel like they're really interested in my family as a family, not just as patients. more

I have only been here at The Shores at Wesley Manor for six months, but my mother was here and she died here at 101 years old. She got the best care that she could possibly get. I have friends here and I saw how well they were taken care of, and a lot of the residents of Ocean City come here as well. We all can't help but speak well about it. I would highly recommend them. more

All of the employees at The Shores At Wesley Manor have been more than helpful! We moved in in December, so we haven't had a long time here, but we are adjusting. We are getting used to a smaller home, finding our place, and my wife just came from rehabilitation for some memory difficulties, so it's been helpful here with things like that. So many of them know our names personally, and that means a lot. When they go down the hall and say "Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Barrett, how are you?" it really means a lot. They have that friendliness that is more that just courtesy, and that's very good. My advice to someone else would be that it's a matter of knowing what you want before you move in to a home like this. You should have a pretty firm thought as to why you want to enter the home. Maybe it's too much to live in your own home and your abilities to cook and take care of the lawn are not as good anymore, and you just want the ease of retirement. You should realize if you're entering the home whether it will be for a short period of time, or if you intend to live here and have it be your permanent residence. more

I am very happy at The Shores at Wesley Manor. They have been very helpful, and they treat me well. I've been here for about five months now, and they do just about anything for me. I'm sure that if anyone else came in they'd be treated just as well. I would highly recommend them. more

I've been at The Shores at Wesley Manor for 2 years. I initially came here with my husband when we were both sick. We felt that we should come there. When my husband passed away I didn't want to be alone so I stayed. I have one of the nicest apartments here and I am very satisfied. They do their best to take care of us here, they have great food, and I don't know anywhere where people are treated better than at The Shores. more

My husband and I live at The Shores at Wesley Manor. The staff are very pleasant and cooperative, and the food is good. Our apartment is quite satisfactory; it's rather large and very comfortable. They make different meals. The meals aren't anything really exciting, but they try to make a variety of meals. They also have an exercise program that my husband uses. Every Saturday, a volunteer comes and plays bridge games with us. more

The Shores At Wesley Manor is a very nice operation overall. The staff is very cooperative, kind, considerate, and easy to work with. I would uncategorically recommend them for anyone looking for a retirement home. The only reason I took off a star for service/experience is because I would enjoy it if they were more proactive about the resident's overall health care. They could easily earn that last star if they took a little more initiative in putting people in contact with doctors. more

My mother is very happy at The Shores At Wesley Manor! It was a bit of a transition but she is pleased with the staff. The only thing she doesn't like is the food, because she is a foodie and great chef. I have been encouraging to hold cooking classes with the other residences, but the staff took the stoves out of the craft room. more

My mother is staying at The Shores at Wesley Manor. She is very happy there, and we all feel at peace with her being there. She doesn't want to live with us, and she likes living there. As a relative, I can say that all my needs and concerns have been addressed and taken care of as well. more

We have been at The Shores At Wesley Manor for three years, and everything has been fine. We came in as a family. We are well-taken care of here. We get what we need, from nutrition to activities. They have a variety of meals and activities available. If something happens to us, they take care of us. more

I have had a good experience in The Shores At Wesley Manor. I've lived here for 8 years now. I need assisted living because eight years ago I went to Egypt and fell off a camel which shattered my pelvis. The staff here is great and it is a delightful place. I am 91 years old. more

I have had my mother move into The Shores at Wesley Manor a little over a year ago and the experience has just been great for her. First off, the living quarters are immaculate. Secondly, being that she is in the memory care center, there are more nurses than residents and I think that that makes it really conducive for making sure that each resident has excellent care. For example, if she doesn't feel well and get out of bed, they go and get her meals for her. I also love that there are a range of activities geared towards the elderly. They have aerobic exercise for people who are confined to being in a chair, host shows and music occasionally, and really just want their residents to be having a good time. If you're looking for care for a loved one, I highly recommend The Shores as you will not be disappointed and neither will they. more

My mother has had a great experience with The Shores at Wesley Manor. Their facility is very resort like, but has a casual feel to it. Everyone there is friendly--they always have a smile on their face, and are attentive to the residents. My mother's experience is a little more limited. She's in a transition between assisted living and a skilled nurse, which is their assisted living plus model. She's a little bit more confined, but is able to play Bingo, gets her nails done and does a quite a bit of other activities. She does have access to go down stairs and do other activities that are available, but because of her conditions and proneness to falling, she opts to stay close to her apartment. The Shores at Wesley Manor has very good communication, and calls me when anything goes wrong. Their caring and great attitudes make for a comfortable stay. more

I have been at The Shores at Wesley Manor for about six months now, and I think they have a very nice operation going on. It's very clean, and everyone is pleasant. Although the kitchens may be a little tiny, I find the apartments to be more than adequate. The food is also excellent for an institution. I'm an independent occupant, so I come and go as I please, but they have many things to do to keep us occupied and socialized. My total experience has been pleasant so far. more

I am in an independent living at The Shores At Wesley Manor, and so I don't get a lot of personal service, but I get very good meals, very good attention, and my room is well taken care of. Everybody is very pleasant, nice, and friendly. I am very happy here! more

The Shores facility at Wesley Manor is amazing. Its staff is friendly and knowledgeable, too. They truly care and does not feel like an institution. My mother is really pleased living there and has a lot of activities to participate in. She thoroughly enjoys being there. I cannot say enough good things about this place and location wise, in Ocean City, gives it a very safe and family oriented vibe. more

The Shores at Wesley Manor does everything for me! They cook my meals, they clean my room, and that's about all I need! I think people would find a lot of love and friendship here, because that's what I have found! more
