Umpqua Bank

I was there to open a SAVINGS account, for crying out loud! Not a checking account, or a loan request, mind you. I didn't realize they would want to do a credit check, nor was I told, until I had handed over my ID. Didn't sit with me too well, obviously. I don't like it when businesses are not upfront with information, and when I am only provided the important details if I happen to ask the right specific question. That was the impression I got at Umpqua. Current interest rates are not posted at their bank, nor on their website. Yes, I know that rates change, but give me an estimate, please! High fees with high minimum balance requirements. Sure, they give back to the community, but how about starting with the local community of people who might be willing to have an account at your bank? more

I had been a customer of one of the big banks for years before making switch. I never thought that my bank teller would remember my name, ask me about my business, weekend etc... I am a big fan of a dieing art ""Customer Service,"" so I was glad to see that this company is trying to revive it. I go to the bank multiple times a week and it used to be a chore, now it is something that I look forward to. Thank you to the staff at Umpqua! Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more
