Over the years my husband and I have always purchased our electronics from the ""big box"" retailers such as Best Buy & Circuit City. Recently (Dec. '07) we made our first purchase at Ultimate Electronics. I bought my husband a Sirius Satelite Radio along with the car kit. I definitely got the best deal around and felt good about my purchase. When it came time to install the car kit, my husband decided to go to Circuit City. After they had his car for MANY hours (approx 5) they told him that the dock was not working and there wasn't anything they could do about it. He returned to Ultimate Electronics and told them that the dock was not working and they replaced the entire car kit for him, no questions asked. He went back to Circuit City and after 3-4 more hours they told him that it still wasn't working. At this point he realized it probably wasn't the part, but the installer. Frustrated with the fact that he had his Sirius for over 2 months and still didn't have it installed in his car, he decided he would take everything back to Ultimate Electronics and cut his losses. Most electronic stores never would've asked or helped with this situation. In the end (and only about an hour later) they took the time to figure out what the problem was. Evidently on the Sirius receiver it states clearly that it is 5 volts and they had hooked it up to 15 volts amongst many other mistakes made with the install. Ultimate Electronics corrected all of the mistakes, no charge. That, in my book, went WAY above and beyond excellent customer service. I will never shop anywhere else and definitely will only work with their installation department. They are a little more expensive, but they are very professional, experienced and know what they are doing. THANK YOU ULTIMATE ELECTRONICS!! You took one of our most frustrating experiences and turned it into a good one . . . if we only would've started with you for the install, everything would've been perfect!
