U of M museum of Art 9/7/2005

This is a great art museum - not too large, but they have some really nice pieces of art. I recently went to see the "Pop Art display" - Andy Warhol stuff, and it was quite nice. The museum asks for a $5 donation, but it is not required for entry. Parking can be a little difficult, usually its hard to find street parking, but there are parking garages close by. more

University of Michigan Museum of Art 8/19/2005

The University of Michigan Museum of Art is located at 525 South State street, on the corner of State and South University. It sits on the edge of central campus, and its planned expansion will make it the dominant building in that part of Ann Arbor. The museum has a number of excellent permanent exhibits, and often hosts exciting visiting exhibits. Its collection of Asian, American and European art are impressive, considering the small size of the museum. more

Good for a date 8/15/2005

The Art Museum on the U of M campus is outstanding. The only downside I can possibly see to this place is the huge crowds of little, screaming kids they bus in every day. However, once you get past that, and into the double doors, you can see the fine works on art on display. Good place to take a date, but don’t spend too much time there. It’s not very large, but it’s still quite nice. more

Culture in the heart of campus 8/11/2005

The University of Michigan Museum of Art is a good place to go if you're looking to get a little bit of culture in your life. Though the museum is somewhat small, there is always a new and interesting exhibit...everything from art from India to traveling portions of the AIDS quilt. Along with the traveling exhibits there are also the standard exhibits that are there year long. It's also nice to go to a museum where you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for admission, since I believe admission is free. more
