I recently rented a truck from this place to make a short move. I was told to return the truck with a ""full tank of gas."" When we left the lot I noted that the gas gauge was pointing directly at ""F"". We made our move without incident. We had the truck just short of 3 hours I believe and we put exactly 17 miles on the truck. Just prior to returning the truck I had the vehicle filled up with gas at a Chevron station near the lot. To my amazement it took over 7 gallons of gas costing me $17.00 dollars. That means the truck got 2.8 miles per gallon. I also noted that the fuel gauge was pointing past the ""F"". When I returned the truck I expressed my chagin over this issue. I explained that it was obvious that I left the lot with less than a full tank of fuel. I was told that they have a problem with gas siphoning on the lot. I asked why an honest customer should have to pay for a problem that was clearly U-Haul's problem. I e-mailed the district manager; a Mr. Casey Jones. eventually I got a reply from him. He said he understood my complaint but there was nothing he could do except send me a bunch of cupons for U-Haul stuff. It has been over two weeks now and nothing has shown up. I figure these pirates owe me at least $10.00 for gas I did not use.
Pros: Office folks were nice
Cons: They could not help me with fuel I did not use
