Great place for Lunch or Dinner or to watch a game 3/3/2011

I've loved Twin City Diner for years......and the recent renovation and added patio area make it that much better. I live in the Ardmore area near Baptist Hospital and loved that it was within walking distance to be able to walk down for lunch or to walk down on a Saturday evening in the summer to sit on the patio for dinner. The bar area is great too and has a couple of tastefully placed TVs to be able to watch the game while having a drink with friends from work. Food is great, my parents always like to come here when they are in town. Good all around variety and the homemade deserts are awesome, just fyi.... Twin City Diner is a great location for anyone in visiting Baptist Hospital and easy to find. It would be my pick for a restaurant in this area bar none....Nothing too fancy but very welcoming and a tasteful upscale retro diner kinda way has a little something for everyone. more

WONDERFUL local establishment 2/2/2011

Being new in the area (West End) of Winston-Salem, I've been exploring and within short order, have decided on a ""no contest"" winner of best local restaurant and that's the Twin City Diner. The service is excellent, the menu is comprehensive AND has some surprisingly original twists that are fabulous, the prices are more than reasonable and ""your"" drink will be waiting for you as soon as you walk through the door. It's the sense of neighborhood from the staff to other ""regulars"" that makes this place special and one that folks return to again and again. Good job y'all!! I'll be back for sure. more

Wonderful food and family atmosphere 2/13/2009

Great food and wonderful staff. Everybody was very friendly and we can't wait to go back again!! The place looks great since the remodelling! I recommend Twin City to all my friends and family when they are in town. Pros: extremely friendly staff and large portion meals more

Great Sandwiches 8/29/2008

After visiting the area we decided to stop in to the diner to see what all they offered. Now normally on any given day... I am the one not wanting to try anything different. I always get Chicken Tenders no matter where we decide to dine. After sitting there I glanced up at the couple next to me and seen a sandwich that I just had to try. It was a FRIED GREEN TOMATO SANDWICH. I have to say after that day I have been trying to find some where that came close to that item but no luck. So this afternoon I will going again... to get that sandwich. Go try it for yourself and see what I was talking about. Pros: FOOD Cons: Wait time of the staff more

Great food, awesome martinis, and amazing prices. 1/24/2008

If you want a casual dining experience with an extensive menu and a solid bar, than Twin City Diner is for you. You have to get past the diner feel, but it is worth it! Pros: Food and Bar Cons: Ambience more

Be aware ! Surly service and so so food 9/7/2007

What a disaster. From our waitresses surly attitude to the mushy cheese fries, this was one bad meal. We ordered the cheese fries,Gus Burger and the larger serving of ribs. It took almost 20 minutes later to see the salad. The cheese fries when they DID come were mushy and unappetizing~we sent them back (they were an appetizer) and didn't see them again till AFTER we were ready for our check! Pros: Large menu Cons: Food was lukewarm, surly service, not a good value for the money more
