Trouts Fly Fishing

So just moved to Denver from Summit County, and was so excited to find that I had a fly shop in my neighborhood. I stopped by there today to get some info on fishing for carp in the South Platte River. I was immediately greeted by Cody when I walked through the door. He couldn't have been more helpful, and got me into some flies that worked amazing well (just caught my first carp this afternoon!). The shop was beautiful, very well stocked with the top brands, and the staff very knowledgeable and great to deal with. I'll definitely be going back, and I would recommend this fly shop to ANYBODY needing fly fishing goods or information. more

What a great shop!!! I went in recently to get outfitted (I'm new to fly fishing) after a not so great experience at one of the big box stores in town. I was greeted with as soon as I walked through the door, and the service only proceeded to get better. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, but was still able to talk to a complete rookie like myself. Although this was my first visit, it certainly won't be my last. Keep up the good work Trout's, and for anybody looking for a great fly shop in Denver, look no further!!! more

There is no such thing as fashion forward fishing gear for women, but at Trout's I found everything I needed, it is reasonably priced and it is as attractive as fishing gear gets. Plus they offer free shipping if you order online, which is great so I don't have to try on my waders in the store. I also never head out for a trip with out checking their river reports. Solid info! more

Trout's is much more than just a fishing shop. Not only do they have friendly staff and a great selection, they have helpful resources. They provide fishing reports and info on fishing destinations. You can even book your fishing trip through them. Best of all, my wife and I just signed up for private fishing lessons through what they call their angling university and we are really looking forward to the trip! more

Tried going to Trout's Flyfishing tonight, but the shop was closed even though their website said they would be open until 8:00 p.m. and the hours on the door said the same. \r \r I arrived at 6:30 and knocked on the door only to have an employee inform me that the shop was closed. I made it clear that I had driven 30 minutes specifically to shop at Trout's Flyfishing. The guy was not friendly, did not explain why they were closing 1.5 hours early, did not offer to help me out in the least, nor was the slightest bit of an apology offered. \r \r If something came up and the shop had to be closed, that happens from time to time and is understandable. But when a customer tells an employee (maybe it was the owner, I don't know) that he spent 30 minutes just driving to their business, and the employee doesn't show one smidgen of a concern, that shows poor business skills. \r \r There are plenty of fly shops in the area, and I will never again waste my time at Trout's Flyfishing. more
