We contacted Tree and Sprinkler.com and spoke with the owner, Jonas, regarding having him come out and locate our 6 sprinkler valve boxes. We explained that was all we needed as we'd bought the house as a foreclosure and didn't have a map with their locations. He told us it would be $125 which would include his locating equipment and an hour of his time to locate the boxes, which he assured us would not be a problem. On the phone he seemed to be honest so we chose to go with him over several other sprinkler companies we'd spoken with. That was a big mistake. When he arrived, I explained once again that we just needed him to locate the valve boxes. When he had only found 2 valve boxes in 20 minutes and was messing with the wires, we inquired as to whether he was having trouble finding the other valve boxes. He pretty much ignored us and went about what he was doing. When the hour was almost up, we came up to him and told him his hour was almost up and inquired as to where he was in the locating process. He informed us that we had 2 options to fix our sprinkler system 1: a $200 option to repair the issues with our system; 2: the second option would be more expensive. We informed him again he wasn't called out to fix our system, only to find our valve boxes. After he called us both "idiots", he told us that he doesn't just locate valve boxes and that he does repairs and we would owe him more than the $125 we had contracted him for - even though he never completed the job for which we hired him. We requested that he return the system back to what it was prior to his tampering, take his $125 and leave immediately. He continued to be grossly unprofessional by yet again calling us "idiots" and he left our sprinkler system with bare wires exposed that were not that way before he arrived, and without completing the job for which he was contracted to do. Now we are in the process of repairing the damage that he created to our sprinkler system. Run, don't walk, away from this company!
