We saw a sign that said that the rate to this motel was $26.95. When we got to the motel, and I told the manager I wanted a room for $26.95, she immediately copped an attitude with me and told me that the room for $26.95 was taken. She said the rooms were $54.95. I thought this for very high for an old rundown motel, but I told her that I would think about it while she waited on the next customer. I told her that my daughter was staying on the lower level so I was thinking about taking the room. She said, ""Oh, the lower level rents for $59.95."" I asked if that included breakfast and was informed that no breakfast is served.....not even coffee. I was incredulous! She then said in the rudest tone I have ever encountered from anyone in the motel/hotel business that I could get a room at the Holiday Express for $110. I went to my daughter's room to discuss the situation with my husband and took a look at the bathroom. It had a shower, and my husband and I prefer a bathtub, but the worst thing was that it was dirty and there was an unused washcloth with a brown stain on it! Yuck! That was pretty disgusting. We went to the Holiday Express and got a room for $90 in a new, nice building. The friendly clerk was very pleasant and pleased to have our business. The room was clean and wonderfully spacious equipped with a coffeemaker and a bathtub. It also had a pool and a full breakfast. It was worth the $30 more.
