On March 30th I brought the vehicle to Town and Country Chrysler in Levittown , NY where I was advised that the code was ""Gear Ratio"" and that I must replace my transmission filter and fluid.\r
They reflashed the computer, which is all they had to do at no charge.\r
\r
Victor Anzalone, Service Consultant, stated that ""transmission service must be done at 30,000 miles, and ""to maintain your warranty you must change coolant, rear differential and power steering fluid"" as well. I was shocked to learn that my independent shop failed to follow the schedule, which they handed me and the vehicle was at 32,650 miles.\r
After spending over $700 on this ""service"", I checked my owner's manual for Chrysler Corporation's service schedule:\r
•Transmission Service ""60, 000 miles if Taxi, Police, Towing, 120,000 miles all other"".\r
•Coolant Service ""102,000 miles or 8.5 years"".\r
•Differential Service: ""48,000 miles"".\r
I know that Chrysler Corporation utilized these new fluids to avoid the waste products going back into our environment. As you can see the dealership in their quest for profits is coercing the consumer under the guise that they must do this to keep their warranty in effect. This type of product steering will create unnecessary waste products when not necessary. The factory warranty is precise and this is just terrible how the consumer and our planet pays the price for local dealership greed.\r
