Toppers Spa Salon Bucks County

I have been to toppers spa for a massage three times, and each time I left feeling relaxed and cared for. I was really upset to see such bad reviews.\r \r I have had my hair cut twice by Vilma. She was amazing. The first time I went in there looking for a drastic, shorter hair cut. Before Vilma I went to one stylist for years and felt so comfortable until she left. I tried a couple stylists at nearby salons and was left unsatisfied since I am so picky. Then I went to Vilma...I loved talking to her; She was extremely personable and friendly. After she was done with my hair, I loved my new cut. I was so happy with it the first time, I just went back to her today. She remembered me from the time before, was so friendly and sweet, and I left loving my hair AGAIN. \r \r I was always picky with my hair, and now I won't let any one but Vilma to touch it. \r \r Oh, and by the way, someone who reviewed said Vilma doesn't know how to cut hair - I went to Vilma with a picture and she got it spot on for my hair type. I went home and my sister, also a certified stylist, said it was a great cut. Vilma has the skills. more

I was dismayed and disappointed when reading the disparaging remarks about the Management at Bucks County-specifically Allison, the Spa Director. I would like to share my wonderful experience at Toppers Bucks County, and how Allison helped us and turned a problem into a solution! I had recently booked some appts on line for my sister and myself, to congratulate her on her new job-- a Spa Day- perfect way to celebrate! I took advantage of the on-line discounts, and booked our appointments on-line- I thought I had done everything right, but, I inadvertently booked the wrong services, and I did not read the whole booking policy, so when we arrived at the Spa, We had all the wrong appointments booked- since, I was out of town traveling and did not get back into Bucks County until the night before the services, I did not receive a confirmation call- hence, the problem when we arrived- The Front Desk Person (I do not know this ""Nick"" person, we had a lovely lady assist us) was very kind, but could not really help us, so, I asked to speak with the Manager- Allison came out, greeted us, and went over the booking problem- I freely admitted this was my fault- and Allison quickly surmised what the problem was, and said that, ""No problem-give me a moment and wewill take care of this- and get you the appointments you wanted."" As this was a Saturday, and the Spa was busy, I was immensely impressed-aside from having to wait 20 minutes for our nail treatments we had a WONDERFUL time and, BIG KUDOS to Allison for helping us,correcting the booking, and allowing us to have a Great Spa Day! She was kind,calm, respectful, and COMPLETELY PROFESSIONAL! The ONLY thing I will agree with the previous review is that the Massage Therapists, Aestheticians, and Nail Techs are wonderful! I was actually going to write a glowing review about this, but, on Monday I was back at work and I got busy again and forgot. It wasn't until a friend I recommended Toppers to alerted me to this review that I have decided to respond. I work in Sales/Marketing, and I can say that it is best to keep these reviews professional- not personal- and to share experiences- not feelings about a person- let's keep it professional. My last visit I was informed Nick is longer at Toppers and abruptly left. Nick was an asset, breathing life into reception area. The Spa Director lacks any type of life, professionalism and personality. Nick ran that place better than Allison. Allison should have been the one that left, not Nick. Thankfully, this location does have good massage therapists and estheticians. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be back. more

I MUST SAY I HAVE BEEN TO SEVERAL TOP HAIR STYLISTS THROUGHOUT PHILADELPHIA AND MANY OTHER CITIIES. HOWEVER VILMA AT TOPPERS IN NEWTOWN IS SIMPLY THE BEST!! SHE IS SUCH A TALENTED AND CREATIVE GIRL WHO WORKS WITH SUCH AMBITION AND MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PERSON WHEN YOU WALK OUT OF THE SALON. MY MOST RECENT EXPERIENCE WITH HER WAS AN A+++. I HAD HIGHLIGHTS, LOWLIGHTS, GLAZE, A BEAUTIFUL HAIRCUT AND EVEN BETTER STYLE DONE. I COULDN'T HAVE BEEN HAPPIER! I HAD TO ATTEND A CHARITY EVENT LATER THAT EVENING AND EVERYONE WAS AMAZED. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VILMA TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED HIGH END, TALENTED, CREATIVE, MODERN HAIRSTYLIST!! I had a gift card to get a pedicure, surprised that a pedicure was 55$!, but felt it would be quite the experience from a high end salon. Yeah right! The nail technician threw a basket of colors at me, not many to choose from, I left with the same calluses I came in with, oh but i got a free bottle of lotion- please! ill still with my local nail shop, who massages my feet, buffs them smooth, and even rubs my back when im under the dryer..oh yeah and their only 20$ Don't waste your time or money! more

My kids and I had purchased a gift certificate for my wife for Mother's Day approximately five years ago for a day at Topper's Spa. She felt physically uncomfortable immediately after the massage and within a day or two she was pretty much unable to walk without being under the influence of heavy medications. \r We found later that the masseuse was new and her experience and credentials were questionable. From this day at Toppers and in particular this massage my wife was in extreme pain and incapacitated for over two years until we were able to by chance find a doctor that recognized her injuries and was willing to perform an extensive operation to relieve her pain.\r I have no issue with Toppers at this point, I would just like for people to know that just because you patronize a familiar name such as Toppers the people under their employment might not always be held to the same standards as might be expected. And I hope that no other family has to go through an ordeal such as the one that my family and I had to endure. \r Caveat Emptor.\r more

I asked for an experienced stylist because I was getting a significant new cut. Prices are pretty high, so I thought they'd have high-end stylists. Took pictures of what I wanted. Asked her if she'd ever cut hair that way. She asked if I wanted to keep the back longer (yes), she said she'd cut it longer and I could get it shorter if I wanted. BUT - SHE BUTCHERED MY HAIR. Had some excuse like (oops) she needed to make is shorter so it wouldn't flip up. (Why didn't she asked me?) Does not know what she's doing. I recommend you stay away from this place!!!! more

ill tell you i went here a while ago to get my hair done and of course joseph isnt there any more,figures..so i went with my sister ,the facial girl sounded like a frog! she was a little unkept and not to pleasant,i thought i would get first class service ,yea ,,not! and the massage girl ,omg! where do they find these employees, she was a big sweaty mess reminded me of penelope,porkys girl friend ,i could hear her huffing and puffing while doing the massage,,,she was all red faced,yuck not appealing at all.,really?not relaxing at all,and forget the hair salon ,joseph isnt there so thats a done deal,go to david witchells on state street,now theres a treat! more

Toppers is a nice place, but Natalie is the best! Not only does she know all the trends and is super technical, her personality is one of the best in existence. She's very creative and really listens to you. She knows exactly what you want, and does it. Also anyone who can get my hair as white blonde as she does without breakage, deserves a reward. I couldn't ask for anything more in a stylist! more

When I first moved into the area, I had a hard time finding good, quality services. A friend recommended I go to Topper's Spa in Newtown, and have been coming here ever since! I have been to a couple different massage therapists (Phylis (sp?), Katie, Kim, and Brandy (sp?) to name a few), and love them all! The facials are relaxing as well, and all of the estheticians are good. Just found that they have discounts listed on their website too! I will never go anywhere else since I found this place! I received a gift certificate to Toppers and decided on the deep tissue massage. When I went in, I was taken to the spa area which was extremely calming and comfortable. I was shown to the locker room where I put on a nice, comfy robe. I sat in the lounge, sipped on some really good fruit juice and waited on my appt. That's were the goodness ended.\r \r My masseuse for a deep tissue massage was an older lady who clearly had trouble applying pressure. I actually felt bad for her the whole time. I walked away totally dissatisfied. I will not go back b/c I don't want to take the chance of spending that amount of money and getting a poor massage by someone who probably shouldn't be giving massages. I recently moved from north jersey,and had been traveling for months back and forth to my fav stylist,,now i see Joseph,,he knew what i was trying to ask for ,and made it happen,i appreciated him being honest and helping me realize what i wanted wasnt the best thing for my hair or my lifestyle,,he gave me options,,now im up to date ,.close to home,and lovin my hair! more

And the time I had a facial was a nightmare. Yes it was relaxing, but when I came out and looked in the mirror, I saw that my make up was smeared all over my face, and was not washed off first. This disturbed me as you can imagine, all the steps of steam, and pore opening, and cleansing was subjecting my pores to mascara that was all over my face. What was this girl thinking? I felt like my face and pores were cleaner before I exposed my self to that mess. And talking to the manager is like talking to a wall. She does not understand English very well, and did not agree with me that it is a problem to come out of a facial with mascara smeared all over your face. Then she offered my 10% off on my next facial - WHAT A JOKE! Another free facial would have been appropriate. \r The music is in poor quality and taste. A lot of static, and the selection for a massage was fast and racy like you are running a race, but that was piped through the whole place.\r I told the staff every time I went there is no soap in the ladies room, and am told maintience does that and they don't have a key. - I said, buy a soft soap dispenser. First, the waiting area feels like a bus stop waiting area. Not relaxing. Secondly, the staff who mans the front desk are UTTERLY incompetent. No one checked out or in for over an hour, yet when our party was leaving, they told us they had been ""too busy"" to go to the bank and could only give us 20 $1s for a $20 - it's your business to have the correct change and you were too busy eating lunch!! In addition, after checking me out WITH a coupon and accepting my discounted payment, I was then told that my coupon had not been accepted and that I needed to pay the full price - WRONG. First, coupon clearly applied. Second, you already accepted full payment. Then two people spent 5 mins trying to figure out the change. UNACCEPTABLE. I will NEVER return to that toppers ever again. more
