Horrible Customer Service 3/25/2011

I recommended Tokens of Affections to my sister after I had purchased a communion dress for my daughter two years ago. My sister purchased a dress for her daughter in February but in the past few weeks her daughter had a growth spurt and now the dress fits too snug. She called the store to see what they could do about this and she recieved the most rude and disgusting attitude from this old woman (the owner) who kept telling my sister that it wasn't her fault that her daughter ""got fat"" and that it wasn't her problem, then obnoxiously hung up on her. This is incredibly shocking behavior from a woman (owner of a store) who has absolutely no knowledge of dealing with her clients. All my sister wanted was some guidance or help as to what she can now do if her daughter couldn't wear the dress. Maybe have her exchange it for a bigger size or call the manufacturer to see if they had any bigger sizes so my sister could order it herself - anything that would seem courteous and respectful. (The tags were still intact on the dress). Instead, my sister was treated like garbage. more

Horrible Experience for Child & Parent on 2/28/09 3/2/2009

My daughter and I went in to look at communion dresses and veils. After being shown some dresses (we were not allowed to touch the merchandise), my daughter had a few to try on. We were shown the ""dressing room"" - a small, blocked off area in the back of the store with no door (the owner's husband was walking around the store). The female owner told my daughter to take off her clothes and she would put the dresses on her. When I told the woman I would try them on my daughter, I was told I was not allowed to. When I tried again to be able to help my daughter, I was again told no as she (the owner) was careful with the dresses. When I objected again and said I would be careful touching the dresses and my daughter was private about her body I was again told no - I was not allowed to help my child try on the dresses. At this point my daughter was crying because the woman made her feel uncomfortable and as though she had done something wrong. We immediately left the store and took our business elsewhere. It was a very unfortunate experience my daughter was put through. What should have been a joyful experience was turned into an awful moment for my child. My daughter felt as though she had done something wrong and I had to explain it was the woman's shortcomings, and not my daughter's. We were fortunate to go to another store where we were treated wonderfully and my daughter found her dress. If Tokens of Affections were serious about treating customers well and wanting their business, they would see when they were making a child uncomfortable and do what they could to rectify the situation. more
