FRESH! The Freshest Fish on the Embarcadero. Incredible Value and Friendliest Service! 2/6/2009

The Freshest Fish on the Embarcadero. Incredible Value and Friendliest Staff! Run by Italians and makes you feel right at home. They don't skimp on anything, especially wine and butters. The Tequila Teriaki Marinade they have for one of their main fish entree's is deIicious! They bring a relish tray and bread basket so your never waiting for anything. Great service! more

Best food, best attitude! 5/25/2008

We discovered Tozgnazzini's a year or so ago and make it a point to drive the 2.5 hours from Ventura whenever we want a good seafood meal. As others have stated, their bisque (of any kind) is to die for (or drive for!). Pros: food, price, friendliness Cons: ambience more

HONEST AND FRIENDLY 1/30/2008

My wife and I find the food and service at both Dockside Restaurant and their fish market well above many others in Morro Bay. They have that friendly family feeling that is hard to find, and it pleases us to see so many regulars eating there. When on the coast we enjoy their clam chowder, but their bisques are to die for. We love Dungeness crab, and they are a perfect fit for us as that is the only crab they serve. If your looking for that fake KRAB taste then you should look elsewhere. We understand they have their own fishing boat, and the husband is a life long local commercial fisherman. Doesn't get any fresher than that! On nice days we enjoy their fresh fish market that includes outside seating and dining. A different menu but as enjoyable as in the restaurant, and dog friendly too! Nobody is perfect but good food, and a good value. Pros: FRESH FISH more

I love Dockside! 1/29/2008

Tognazzini's Dockside is the locals Secret! The food is amazing. I've eaten at Dockside almost every weekend since they've been open. The seafood is always fresh and their clam chowder is the best on the coast! They also have tasty bisques! (I love the salmon bisque!) As for Dockside Two, it's simply great! They have dog friendly patio seating! You can have oysters, a pitcher of beer and look onto the bay. What else can you ask for? The owners are very nice people. They make an effort to speak with your table one on one to make sure your enjoying your dining experience. Rest assured if you complain I can't imagine them running you off! A special thanks to the Tognazzini's for giving Morro Bay a great family place to eat! Pros: Fresh Seafood and Great Service more

Best dining experience around 1/29/2008

As a Morro Bay Local I have been able to dine at Tognazzini?s Dockside a number of times and let me say that it has since become my favorite local dining experience! I say experience because it is just that. You can literally watch the boats unload their catch while ordering the bounty that has been recently unloaded. It just doesn?t get any fresher than that! Look to their daily specials for the best seasonal specialities. Pros: Great Seafood!!! more

Incredible. 1/28/2008

I've eaten at Dockside on a number of occasions and can testify that I've not had better seafood ....ANYWHERE!! more

The Best Buck You May Ever Spend 11/29/2006

Now I can't vouch for the Dockside Restaurant -- haven't tried it. But Tognazzini's also has a Fish Market, an affordable, seat yourself/pay at the counter affair. Driving from LA to the Bay for Thanksgiving, my girlfriend and I camped at Morro Bay. It was after a trip to the Rock that we saw it: a sign for ""$1 Barbeque Oysters"". And like their no-nonsense advertising, Tognazzini's oysters were simple and right on the money. Plump n' juicy...drenched in melted butter and garlic...cooked perfectly. With minimal expectations, we had only two each; but on the way back down to SoCal, we felt obliged to stop back for more. This time we split ten of 'em. With a bowl of chowder (not sour, as the other reviewer complained), it made a fine meal. If you're driving the Central Coast, check it out, as Morro Bay is a beautiful little town anyway. Of course, you could stick to the 101, drop by Jack and eat 13 Jumbo Jacks for the same price. The question then becomes, ""Jumbo Jack or KFC Snacker?"" They're both better than the Whopper Jr., but that's just one man's opinion. Pros: cheap, fresh seafood; nice location more

Fresh Fish??? I Don't think So.. 9/13/2006

So after much hype about this ""Local Secret"" I went in and tied Dockside, and I have to say I was quite disappointed. They say all the fish is local and fresh, but when I ordered my meal the fish smelled of ammonia! And the clam chowder tasted very sour. I've had better seafood a Denny's!! This truly was a complete disappointment. With so many other Choices in Morro Bay, why anyone would eat here is beyond my comprehension. The food was just plain awful. Pros: view of the bay Cons: FISH SMELLED OF AMMONIA more
