Ms.

Dr. Houston is the best. He always returns your calls and will speak with you on the phone even if it takes him more than 30 minutes to explain things to you. I can not say enou...

I stopped taking my pets to TVH a few years ago because everytime I boarded my dogs there, something would happen to them. The last time, my dog put a minor scrape on his nose fr...

I somewhat agree with that guy down below 5/4/2008

Except - the Doctor is actually a good doctor from what i've seen. Her prices are off the charts and she's pushy and arrogant but she seems to know what she's talking about. I also think that her staff is really nice (they must be saint's to deal with that kind of arrgance every day.) I will never go there aggain. I got the same stuff done somewhere else for alot cheaper. like 150 dollars cheaper! I love my pet and would gladly spend money to keep her healthy and safe but I don't want to line some doctors pockets for the same services i can get elsewhere for much cheaper. more

BUYER BEWARE!!!! 10/30/2007

I will NEVER take my animals back to Tierrasanta Veterinary Hospital. I worked in the veterinary field as a vet. nurse for several years. Therefore, my knowledge of field is high. I had a situation where I had to send my friend to drop off my animals after having a lengthy discussion w/ the receptionist confirming what services my dogs needed. Well, unfortunately, this hospital pulled a "car mechanic" operation, and told my friend that my animals "needed" all these other unnecessary services. He, believing the Dr to be honest, bought them ALL. They took him for a ride for over $2,250!!! I was quoted an estimate of $700!! They sold him sooo many things he did not need on the premise that "they had to be done for the sake of the pet's health." Bottom line, you cannot trust this hospital or its' staff to tell you the truth-- they will tell you what makes them a profit. Like I said, I know this, because I know veterinary medicine. Do NOT take your pets here. Their interest is their bottom line first, your pets' well being second. Remember, actions speak louder than words! I'd say this was comparable to a man sending in his wife to get an oil change, and she comes home with a new engine. Buyer Beware!!! more

Not a good experience 7/28/2006

My cat developed a swelling at the rabies injection site after a few days. I took him in for examination. Without consultation, the vet immediately rushed out to get an "estimate" to biopsy it - $500! Also, they tramautized my cat trying to get a stool sample. Vet is very rough and pushes services, I feel. I am much happier with the vet up the road, even thought it is a further drive. more

Great Vets Make for a Scheduling Nightmare! 2/25/2006

Here's my dilemma with this vet hospital: the doctors here are wonderful. They are well-trained, experienced, compassionate and very professional. The staff follows suit, and visiting this vet hospital is consistently a great experience. However, because of this, making an appointment can be a nightmare. The staff does their best to accomodate your schedule, but it just isn't always possible due to the sheer number of clients they are serving. There have been times when I've been forced to go elsewhere as I just couldn't wait for a possible opening. more

Awesome vet! 1/14/2006

This vet office is fantastic! The staff are all very caring and concerned. They are friendly and welcoming. They will do their best to fit you in for appointments as soon as possible. The doctor takes time to make sure you understand everything, from how to give medication to why shots are needed. I have always left this office with a smile on my and my pet's face. more

Good Vet 8/9/2005

This isn't one of those vets that you never see the doctor and they don't know you. The staff are really nice and now almost every animal they care for when they walk in the door. The facilities are always clean and they have treats for after they give shots. They hold a puppy class for dogs that have all their shots given by the doctors at their office; it's a great way to start socializing at a young age. more
