I took my car 07 dodge charger, to tidewater auto electric in chesapeake because the anti theft kicked in due to a bad key, I took my car to them they told me my anti theft security module had went bad and i needed a new one. They claimed they could call the dealer and get the code to reset it. They stated they tried that after having it for two days, after that they said it read invalid code bad key. I proceeded to ask could it have been the key that made it go off they said no I would need to have it replaced. So I had a plenty of questions, which they didn't like. Then I decided to have a another mechanic look at it for a second check. They didn't like the idea of that and tried to make me hurry up and decided to make a choice if I wanted them to fix it or not. So they told me if they fix it and order the part and I dont use it I would still have to pay for the part. So I called the dealer to get a pricing of the part they are charging for as well to find out how much the dealer would charge to replace it, which was only like 200 and something dollars. The price tidewater auto electric quoted me was unreal. They told me if they replaced just the module it would be over 600 dollars and if it wasn't the module i would need the computer replaced and that would be over 700 dollars for a total of 1300 plus dollars. Which did not add up right. So I called tidewater electric In Chesapeake to inquire about the fees and because I was in class I couldn't finish the conversation so I had my spouse call back for me. They got mad because we had questions called my spouse back told him the car was running we could come get it they no longer wanted to work on it. How can I company who is trying to rip someone off get mad when a customer has questions. They are a bunch of crooks and I strongly do not recommend anyone to go to this shop. Find someone else or go to the dealer, tidewater auto electric will rip you off.
