Before now, I never had a problem withThrifty. I used to rent from them when they were located in Matthews on Independence Blvd. I've always used a visa debit card issued by my bank with no problems. This time I went to their location on South Blvd. and was extremely disappointed when my DEBIT card was run through Equifax and denied. THE FUNDS WERE AVAILABLE, so I couldn't understand what was going on. The employee said some cards get denied one day but then the next time the customer comes, they get approved. ???? I called my bank and they couldn't explain it either. They couldn't even see on their system that the card had been denied. I also called Thrifty's 800 # and they weren't helpful either. I had made reservations and was travelling to FL for Christmas planning to leave that night. So here I was without a car a few hours before our departure! I went to Enterprise immediately after that and they ran the same debit card and I was able to rent a better vehicle at a better price.
