Mixed Emotions 5/11/2007

I have been a client at Three 13 for about 3 years. I have used a few services: haircut, eyebrow wax, perm... Callie cuts my hair and I have NO complaints about her ability... She is great! Since I was so pleased with cuts, I decided to inquire about a perm. I was very specific in what I wanted. When I got there and spoke to the techician, she didn't agree with my thoughts for MY perm. I gave in because after all - she was the technician!! She ended up not giving me the perm. She was a higher level associate and she was extremely backed up. She PAWNED me off on another technician that had not been there as long. Needless to say, I paid for the higher priced tech and got lower priced results. I had a lower level associate trim my hair after the perm and she had NO CLUE!!! It was a disaster to say the least. She didn't have a clue where to begin. After almost $200 - I was so upset, I went somewhere else to have it done right!!! I haven't been back for a haircut or perm at Three 13, but Gail still does my eyebrows. She is quick and GREAT!! I would recommend Callie for haircuts - she is pricey, but worth it if you want it done right. As far as the wait... It is an issue when you get your haircut - no so much when I get my eyebrows done. They are great people there and some that aren't so great! I definitely recommend the higher levels... Pros: Friendly enough staff, Shampooing is GREAT Cons: PRICE!!! Lower level associates are at lower levels for a reason! more

No other place like it! 4/24/2007

I have been a client at 3:13 for over 20 years. Lester cut my hair for years. When Lester retired form cutting hair - I thought no one could ever replace him. He told me to let Tony Lacey do my hair. Well Tony is the GREATEST!!! You will not be disappointed with Tony. I am very hard to please when it comes to hair stylist. I have never felt rushed at 3:13. They really know how to pamper you. Yes it is expensive - but you get what you pay for! It is worth every penny you pay. I would never dream of going anywhere else. Pros: Great Work Cons: I now live 55 miles from salon! But I still go. more

Less than I expected 1/22/2007

My two daughters and I received gift certificates from my husband for Christmas. He made three stops in to decide what to give us. He told them specifically that one of my daughters was 12 years old. After reviewing the Menu of Service and stopping by to schedule Facials, I found out that they only did body services on 16 year olds and up. I gave my 12 year old cash for her gift certificate She was dissappointed, as well as my husband, who asked every question imaginable of the salon. Pros: Very nice staff, clean, pretty, Cons: Where was the pamper? Price more

Our special time 1/17/2007

My sisters and I have been going to Three 13 for approximately 20 years. We have never been disappointed and always consider our time there ""Our Special Time"" Over the years we have had children and now they are also clients there, my daughter had her first haircut there by Callie. We also LOVE Arnie, Leslie, Zoe and Candace. We miss Patrick though. As for the wait, I have never experienced what I felt was an long period. The price is very much worth it!!! Zoe cuts my daughters hair, which is past her waist , Pros: What ever you ask they can do. Cons: Yes the price is high, but oh so worth it. Considering what they offer you are getting away with a deal! more

Awesome 11/9/2006

I love everything about Three-13. I love the special attention throughout your whole experience. The hand dipping, the head massage and neck massage when they are washing your hair. I am very particular where I get my hair cut and I am always happy when I leave Three-13. I recommend all my friends to go there - love it! more

Talented staff and nice atmosphere 11/3/2006

I've been going to this salon for haircuts for about 4 years now. The lesson I've learned is to pay the extra $20 and get at the very least a Senior Stylist. The couple of times I dropped down I was very disappointed, but as long as you ensure that your stylist has been there more than 6 years you should be very pleased with your cut. I paid way to much for the hair cut . Both times I used two diffrent stylest and OH my I could not belive that they both pulled out the thinning sheers and I have thin hair! Pros: they have a great concept Cons: only the ones that have been there 10 years or more know what they are doing to high of a price more

WORST MASSAGES EVER!!! 9/29/2006

I had a gift certificate and decided to use it for a massage, actually a couple of times. I guess I was hoping it would get better but they were the WORST massages I have ever had in my entire life. They were painful, the room was freezing, and I left feeling worse than I started. Pros: The tour was nice, I just felt like I was another person in a factory of people going through the services. Cons: When taken for the hydrotherapy, the lady stayed in there while I took my robe off, it was very uncomfortable. more

Best haircuts around 6/21/2006

I have been reading about the wait, but I have seen Charlotte at least 5-6 times now and brought my son for his cut, and never waited more than 10-15 min. Maybe it all depends on the level the hairdresser is. I have not tried the other services yet , but one of these days I will try a massage. She has done such a wonderful cut everytime on my hair, that I drive one hour to see her. more

I have been going to three-13 for over 10 years and I love it. I have tried other places, but always seem to go back to this salon. It does not matter what service you need, they do it, from facials to hair extensions. They are a ""high-end"" salon that does not overcharge. Pros: experienced, fairly priced, good service more

I've been going here for 20 years. Yes, I remember the splatter paint walls in the old building. Tony Lacy is worth every penny. He is a true artist. If I have to (and I have) I will save for six months to wait and get my hair cut by Tony rather than go anywhere else and risk a disaster. Pros: neck massage, Tony Cons: A Littel Pricey more

Just wanted to give a review from a guy's perspective.. this place is great. Got my hair cut by Chris and she was awesome. I got my hair cut when i got back to school, and my stylist said whoever cut my hair before did an amazing job! It sucks i had to move away from atlanta because I would have definitely kept coming back to three-13! more

Three 13 Is Great 12/8/2004

I have been going to Three 13 for 5 years now and I have enjoyed the atmosphere and the treatment I get from my stylist Drake. She does a great job on my hair and the coloring department is great. I love the area where they wash your hair. I feel so relaxed and almost fall asleep every time they give me a neck and scalp massage. I highly recommend spending the money on a great style. I have been going to Three-13 salons for 13 years. More specifically, I have had the same hairstylist for that length of time. Marsha is the best!!! Salon that feels like a day at the spa 8/18/2003

I absolutely love this place!!! I've been going for 5 years now and moved with them to their new building, which is huge and gorgeous. They offer a choice of prices from the least experienced to the most. It's easy to get an apointment when you need one, and I don't know what other people are talking about becuase I've never had to wait for anything there. Jennifer colors my hair and is great with shading and low lighting. Ping cuts and styles me and she always remembers what she did to my hair the time before and always offers something new to try. After the parafin wax, massage, best looking highlights, and a haircut that gets you noticed, I gladly payup the $110. Pros: Good parking, full service, trendy staff more

Horrible place!!! 5/18/2003

This is the second time I've been there. The first time I was happy with the service (massage), but a little put off by the wait (1 hour doing nothing). I gave them another chance and decided to have my hair cut and colored there before my wedding...what a mistake! I was very specific telling the stylist not to make my highlights look blonde (I have dark brown hair), but she was working on 4 other customers at the same time!!! Needless to say, she left them in too long and my hair turned white!!! Then the hair cutter didn't even listen to what I was saying and didn't even come close to what I asked for! PLEASE don't waste your time (it took 4 hours!) or your money ($150!). Pros: music Cons: wait, cost, don't listen! more

Best in the World 12/19/2002

This salon is wonderful. This is the only place I will go to get my hair cut. The people are friendly and unique. The room where they wash your hair is very relaxing with calming music and cool walls to look at. The stylist are trained great you can tell hen anything you want and they can do it perfectly. more
