I arrived back on the north shore for the holidays and was excited to visit Newburyport for the sole purpose of dining at Theory. I am very sad to report that it has closed. This was the best food Newburyport has ever had and probably will ever see. Nothing in that town could compare to chef Rob Minichiello's level of skill and precision to execute such thoughtful cuisine. Looking back and now craving memorable dishes like his Duck leg confit with foie gras shumai and sesame duck jus, and the Salmon with English pea creme fraiche, egg noodles and oven dried tomatoes. Desserts were also a perfect 10, most notably his Creole bread pudding with candied walnuts, sweet potato haystack and a rum butter sauce.
