The Spa... Bothell

I first went to The Spa.....as a gift from my son and his wife for Mother's Day and have continued to go since. I have done a facial, pedicure, and mostly massages from Joyce and her professional staff. I have always had great service with a special touch on each occasion. It is a great, private atmosphere, relaxing, and a wonderful way to get away from the busy lives we all lead. Schedule a special session with a friend or family member and enjoy the time together, or just pamper yourself. Joyce can set up the occasion to meet your needs. You won't be disappointed. I normally don't write reviews, but I just had to, this time. There has been so many great reviews about Joyce and her spa and the experience being so wonderful. But I just have to say that my experience was TOTALLY not something to rave about. I had my first appt. cancelled less then 24 hours before and she said that she was so sorry, that she would throw in a 30min complimentary massage. I was excited about that, so to me to reschedule, was no big deal. My appt. time finally came and I was getting rejuvenation facial. She was out of the room more then she was in the room. She massaged my face and shoulders with some special oil, she washed my face, she used steam and she used the Vitamin C/Green Tea mask, but that was it. When she looked at my paperwork in the beginning, she said that she would look at my face under a light and perscribe the best facial treatment for my skin. That NEVER happened. When the mask was on my face, she was out of the room for the whole 10-15min. When she put steam on my face, she was out of the room the entire time. I think Joyce was in the room, for only about a total of 15min the entire time. And that was only to spray the aromatherapy mist, wash my face or apply whatever mask so that she could leave for the next 10-15min. Needless, to say that the complimentary massage that she said that she would throw in, for cancelling on me in the beginning, NEVER happened. Then when I was ready to leave and she has the water for you to drink, she proceeded to lecture me of why I needed to drink my water. I told her my opinions about it and she definitely did not like someone disagreeing with her. I would never go back or recommend this place. I have had other facials at different facilities and to me she seems like a fraud, because in real facials, they actually look at your skin, do extractions. Anyone, can throw masks on your face, spritz aromatherapy in the air and wash your face. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY, in my opinion!..... Pros: NONE! Cons: Service was TERRIBLE! more

I have been treated differently... I bought a 5-treatment package and she only gave me 4 treatments. When I asked for detailed dates she gave me the dates that two facials done only one-week apart. Overall she is very skilled and knowledged about skins. I'd continue to buy another package but I guess she doesn't care. more

I live in New York and my girlfriend lives in Seattle. For her birthday I suprised her with a "Girl's Day Out' Package at the Spa for both her and her mother. They absolutely raved about the experience and loved every minute of it. When I told the owner (Joyce) who and why I was buying the package for, she even went out of her way to order a birthday cake for my girlfriend. I highly recommend this place to anyone! (especially other guys out there looking to get their significant other a great spa gift). more

What a fabulous experience! Not only a highly experienced aesthetician, but a total comfort zone. The Spa has it all, relaxing music and surroundings, aromatherapy and neck and shoulder massage. I have heard nothing but great things about the massages at The Spa...for the woman who cares. I can't wait to get mine soon. I feel very at ease having my leg waxing done here. I receive very friendly, personalized service at a reasonable price. I also received good recommendations for detoxification and skin products. The place is clean, the atmosphere pleasant and inviting. more

I just had a facial at the Spa for the Woman and my experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and I left relaxed with glowing skin. But what I love most about this spa is the time Joyce took to discuss any concerns I had about my skin and then to provide the information I needed to address these concerns in a natural and healthy way to keep my skin glowing all of the time. more

This was probably one of the best massages I've ever received! I was a little surprised that they asked so much detail regarding my health history, but now I know why...the massage addressed every point in my body that needed attention. I also really enjoyed the small space and personal attention....it's really nice to know that you are the one they are focusing all of their attention on (it feels a bit narcisistic saying that, but it does!).....it really makes a difference in the level of personal attention that you receive. I do wish that I'd had more time to get there and relax, but with the upcoming expansion that is planned I'm hoping that I'll be able to do so in the future...because I *definitely* plan on coming back. I am so lucky to have found this spa...I enjoyed a most heavenly facial...AND left with some real tips, advice and knowledge to help me care for my skin. Joyce's down-to-earth, friendly and caring manner is wonderful...listening to my concerns and advising with a holistic approach to skin care. The experience was nothing short of pure bliss...AND I have clear, healthier skin!! I couldn't ask for more in a spa!! I've had two facials at this spa and they were wonderful! Very relaxing atmosphere. Joyce is a wealth of information in regards to helping you get the skin you want. My acne-prone skin has been improving by just following some of the ideas Joyce gave me, the kind of stuff you hoped your dermatologist would have told you years ago. more

I've been to and from many spas, dermatologists, and doctors, but I went to The Spa... and got a facial, it was awesome. When I was all done I got some products and had made some minor changes that We had talked about, and I have noticed a huge difference and I have had my doctor say something about my improvements. Facial that shows within 10 mins talks for itself. Finally my two year hunt for the right spa has ended. A small place right in the heart of Bothel and as soon as you walk in, you forget that a city exsists at all. Not only it has warm and relaxing atmosphere, the service is also exceptional. Joyce gives the best overall personalized service I have ever had! I went in for a facial, and received so much more. Joyce took the time to talk with me about my concerns, and was so generous with her depth of knowledge. I left with not only glowing skin, but with practical, inexpensive, holistic advice on how to care for my skin from the inside out. Since Joyce only accepts appointments, (no walk-ins), you're guaranteed to be the only one in her cozy spa during your treatment. Joyce has won me as a loyal client. I sent my mom to The Spa... as part of her 50th birthday suprise weekend. I found this spa in the Spa Finder book and then here on City Search. With all the great reviews I felt good about sending my mother there. Joyce was such a pleasant person and so helpful when I was putting together the final package I chose for my mom. The Spa itself is very small, but the customer service is HUGE! She makes you feel like a queen. My mother absolutely loved the facial and the hand treatments she received there. I enjoyed my visit the the Spa for the Woman very much. Joyce will work with you personally to help you treat your skin and give you an overall picture of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I chose Spa for the Woman because I was looking for more personal services, and did not want to feel like I was being processed through a big facility. Joyce made me feel I was important to her as a customer by really listening to my comments and questions about my skin, offering inexpensive recommendations, and by closing up the front door during my lengthy visit so I knew the attention was all on me. The facial room was a very cozy, relaxing environment that I was reluctant to leave, and I truly felt pampered by the whole experience. I also had a pedicure while I was there, and totally forgot to bring open-toe shoes -- but Joyce was prepared with a pair of disposable flip-flops. more

I had a facial with lavender and it was wonderful. I also had the hand treatment and pedicure. It's like an oasis in Bothell! Visted again last Sat. and it is like a slice of heaven in downtown Bothell. Joyce is very skilled and knowledgeable when it comes to facials. i had compliements galore at a party I attended that night and my skin felt WONDERFUL. She really takes the time to discuss treatment options and explain the why about essential oils, etc. Thanks Joyce!! I had a full leg wax and it was as painfree as is possible, when you are getting your hair ripped out. It was the best leg wax I've had. I will definitely go back. I felt very comfortable. I look forward to trying some other services at this spa as well. Pros: Private, Professional more
