Convenient, Clean, Perfectly Fine Motel for the Money 1/20/2009

I've stayed at the Skyview several times while in the area wine tasting. The motel is clean, inexpensive, in a great location & quiet - unless the guy with the brokedown car is blabbing on his cell phone at 10:30pm. Sorry you had car trouble, but if you woke me at 10:30 while on your cell phone in the parking lot, I would have asked you to be quiet too. Pros: Clean, inexpensive, quiet Cons: ?? none i can think of more

NEVER STAY HERE!!!!! 1/19/2009

Based on my brief (but extremely negative) experience at this place, I would never even come close to recommending anyone stay at the Skyview Motel. Specifically, I was driving up to San Luis Obispo (SLO) on a business trip for the DoD when my car overheated on the 101 near Los Alamos. It was about 10:30 pm on a Wednesday night, so when I saw the Skyview Motel?s bright sign on the top of a nearby hill, I decided to pull in and get a room for the night. Unfortunately, there were ""No Vacancy"" signs everywhere, so I called AAA for a tow truck instead. I thought about knocking on the office door and asking for some help, but I didn't want to bother anyone. Apparently, I failed miserably in this area, because while I was on the cell phone in the parking lot with AAA, someone came out of the office and started yelling at me. He said I was on private property and had to leave immediately. When I explained that my car was broken down and I was trying to get a tow truck, he said he didn't care and I should go talk on my cell phone somewhere else. The AAA customer service rep heard him in the background and said she couldn't believe he was doing that. I was kind of shocked as well, but I didn't see any point in arguing, so I pushed my car out of the parking lot and down the hill to the road below. The AAA tow truck showed up about 15 minutes later and took me in to the closest civilized town (Santa Maria), so everything turned out OK. However, the next time I have to drive up to SLO, I'm definitely going to rush through Los Alamos as quickly as possible, and I would highly recommend everyone else do the same. That place (particularly the Skyview Motel) is way too creepy for my taste. It totally reminded me of ?The Bates Motel? from the movie Psycho. Cons: Everything more

Rooms/Overall Stay 7/8/2004

I was very surprised to see how nice the rooms were. They are totally decorated with a Arizona style taste and are very cozy. They supplied more in the room than some expensive spa/hotels I've stayed in. The people are very friendly and everything is very clean. There is also a pretty nice view because it's on top of a hill. Very nice for a motel. more
