The Sherwood Group is a progressive association management company providing flexible management and staff solutions to national and international organizations representing healthcare, science, technology and energy fields. Our passion for creating dynamic communities is matched by our client members' passion for their fields and commitment to providing service and value to their colleagues and communities. Our association management practice is built on three decades of experience and success.
The Sherwood Group provides flexible, scalable, tailored full-service management and project-based services to professional societies and trade associations. The firm was founded in 1979, and is owned by its President, Vice President and Vice President, Meeting & Convention Services.
With a staff of more than 70 serving 14 full-service client organizations, Sherwood is able to provide each client with the highest standard of service, commitment, attention, flexibility and accountability. Sherwood's practice is focused on serving international, heterogeneous specialty organizations representing healthcare, science and technology sub-specialties.
Our greatest and most valuable company asset is our people. Our association management practice is built on three decades of experience and the skill of professionals who have worked with and nurtured hundreds of organizations. The quality of the work we do and the relationships we develop with our clients are functions of each Sherwood employee's individual commitment and talents...and our ability to work together as a team.
Each Sherwood client is supported by a chief staff officer (or executive director), and a multidisciplinary team of membership, meeting management, administration, finance, education, communications and strategic leadership staff members, who work in a dynamic environment that encourages and facilitates the sharing of ideas, experience and innovation. The team is supported by Sherwood's operations group (information systems department, order processing, mail room, and reception).
Sherwood's corporate culture is a direct result of attracting, supporting and retaining an enthusiastic, creative and stable staff - people we like to work with every day. Staff members are trained, equipped and empowered to support busy volunteer leaders and solve problems. Whether through the right application of technology or a member program improvement, Sherwood clients benefit from our ability to share and leverage the collective experience of our staff.
The Sherwood Group's day-to-day role is to manage projects, programs and services as directed by the board and ensure that board-approved initiatives are successfully implemented. Equally important is our responsibility and ability to offer counsel and recommendations based on our experience.
However, there is one thing we never forget: We take our direction from the board. We don't have a vote or decision-making authority, just a respons. Commercial Services
