The Riverboat Inn

I was asked out to dinner and my date took me to the Riverboat Inn & I have to say, I was impressed with the Victorian d?cor. I noticed two Philly baseball players having dinner at a table not too far from mine, so I asked the server what they were eating. He informed me that a lot of baseball & hockey players come in for the seafood and crab soup. He said they enjoyed coming for the great food and private dining experience. I began to look around at the pictures on the walls & was amazed at the number of sports players that have eaten there over the years. I am a HUGE Flyers fan so I was fascinated at the picture of the owner drinking out of the Stanley Cup when the Flyers won in 1974-1975. He also informed me that Chef Summers cooks a lot of the special order dishes requested by the team member that they are unable to find at any other establishment. So my date & I ordered the Crab soup & stuffed flounder Floridian & I have to say, I now see why they make the journey to the Riverboat Inn to order these dishes. I was astounded at the flavor and freshness of the food. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back to eat at the Riverboat Inn again, not necessarily with the new guy, but I will be back. I highly recommend this restaurant for great food, company and atmosphere. more

I had heard that the Philadelphia magazine wrote a wonderful article about the Riverboat Inn, so I decided to check it out for myself. The review I read in the magazine, based on my dining experiences here, was right on the money. The crab soup and shrimp scampi IS the BEST on the east coast. The Riverboat Inn does have great prices, a nice selection of craft beers and superior entertainment. You can?t get a better review than one that comes from a more legitimate source than the Philadelphia Magazine, after all, the reviews are written by professional food critics. The Chef at the Riverboat cooks every meal with care and from scratch, which, in my opinion, is a good thing. I like to know exactly who is in the kitchen cooking my food and the Chef that is preparing the meals, prepares it in a way that the love of their career, reflects in the end result. I can?t say that I know exactly who is preparing the meal at some of the places I have dined at & I have actually walked out of some establishments, once I saw who was preparing the dishes. Word of mouth is the best advertisement you can get and I will suggest the Riverboat Inn to all of my friends and family. I highly recommend stopping in to enjoy their great craft beer selection or to dine at the Riverboat Inn. more

Why go anywhere else Fridays and every chain is the same food and overpriced drinks with servers that don't care just going to school. Ide rather the owners take care of me. I love supporting mom and pop type places. True backbone of America! more

talk about a diamond in the rough.. great food, crabby soups the "Best in Bucks " along with dinner specials ..the weekends are lots of fun with LIVE music from easy listing, to great rock n roll..and the drummer ( Richie ) can really lay it down.. give Old Croydon a try.. more

Went here the other day great service and great prices. Only tried the Buffalo Shrimp 1 word Amazing! Read some reviews about how expensive they are. I paid 4.50 for a Hoegaarden. Where do they go? I guess they drink crap beer for a buck. Go to 3 monkeys where we ordered 3 drinks for 27$ now that's expensive! more
