EXCELLENT NEW GROOMER!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER. YOU WILL LOVE HOW YOUR DOG LOOKS!!! I just have to tell everyone what a great experience my Pekingese has had with The Park's new groomer, Brittany. She is always very kind and patient with him. At first, because of past bad experiences with other groomers, he had a terrible fear of having his nails clipped. He would scream like he was being killed if a nail clipper even came close to him, much less touch his nail. Brittany was very patient and persistent with him. She used different techniques and tools with him to calm him down. Now, after only three times of grooming him, he doesn't even flinch a bit to have his nails cut. Brittany has also been very creative in the different cuts she has given him. She seems to have a real natural ability to know how to get the look the owner wants for their dog. He always looks so cute when she is finished grooming him. I have been extremely happy with The Park's new groomer and would recommend her to all of my friends/family more

Avoid this place 5/18/2012

I would recommend avoiding this place. I am not going back because of the experience I had today. In the small dog area there is a gate that is about 4 feet tall. Over the course of 5 minutes I saw, via the webcam, 4 dogs shimmy up the gate and fall over to the other side. I saw my dog in a cage next to the pen and when I called to ask why, they said they had to put her in there because she kept jumping over the gate (This place advertises itself as cage free but they have plenty of cages there and they had no problem sticking my dog in one). It seems like a simple solution to make the gate taller, but I guess they do not feel that a dog’s safety is worth the investment (on the other side of the gate is a storage shelf and I saw dogs who had jumped the gate try to get to the items on the shelf!). I have heard that they are about to go out of business and I can understand it. It doesn’t seem like a good business model to charge 20 bucks for the service of potentially hurting your dog or sticking them in a crate where they can’t play. If I wanted my dog to sit in a crate, I could do so free of charge at home. more

Worst Grooming EVER 4/11/2012

This rating is just for the grooming services. I know nothing about boarding or day care at this facility. But....DO NOT get your dog groomed here! They seem to hire inexperienced dog groomers and label them ""master groomers"". I have a border collie mix who is obviously a collie. Either none of my request for his grooming was relayed to the groomer or the groomer chose to ignore them or was just to high or hung-over to follow any of the requests. This groomer ""Will"" gave my border collie a typical Spaniel cut...""skirt"" and all. Both the groomer and the owner stated they thought I might want the breed specific cut (which I clearly never stated that I wanted). Just to be clear....there is NO breed specific cut for a collie, other than to not cut their coat. They obviously have no idea about which cut goes with which breed of dog and cannot follow simple directions of ""complete shave except tail"". The previous groomer was not that good either, but he left the business when he was just becoming good at grooming! I won't be going back there and neither should you, if you don't want you're dog coming back to you with bald patches and cuts... But I will say, that the kennel staff are very nice and the owner is as well, even though after 3 years of getting my dog groomed there, the owner had no idea we'd been there before....even though the records were in their computer system. more

How well is your pooch being watched? 12/26/2010

I thought this was a good match for my T-Bo, my Chow who would have turned 1 yr. old this December. Every pet owner will agree that their pets have unique qualities; in a way their our kids, best friends, etc. So you can imagine how hurt I was when we left T-Bo with Pet Retreat while we went to New Orleans for 4 days over the Xmas holiday only to learn that he had gotten through their fence and had been struck and killed on Lawrenceville highway. If this is the safety and monitoring that's claimed in the advertising, it would be well advised to take it with a grain of salt. more

Clean, Kind and Fantastic! 7/31/2009

I have been taking my corgi Cosmo to Park Pet Retreat for more than a year now and he LOVES it! When we pull into the parking lot he gets excited and goes right up to the door. Once inside he bolts right for the entrance to the play area and barely notices when I leave! They keep it very clean inside, which is important--obviously! I like that I can watch him on the Park Cam, and that they really seem to like him and enjoy his visits. He has stayed for doggie day care and for boarding, and both times I've been very happy with the service and experience. I HIGHLY recommend! Pros: Clean, Nice staff (to people and pets!), My dog loves it Cons: A little far from home but SUPER close to my office! more

Wonderful, wonderful! 6/30/2009

I dropped my Shiba Inu off at the Park Pet Retreat on Saturday for the Furminator treatment and some play time. During the 5 hours, I managed to help a friend pack, clean my house and run some much needed errands. I picked up Saki and Maurice did a wonderful job! A full 10 pounds lighter from the removal of all that hair and he was so tired and happy from playing with the other dogs that he fell asleep as soon as we got home! Will definitely be going back! Pros: Affordable, great grooming Cons: nothing more

Park Rangers Rule 1/14/2009

The Park Pet Retreat in Tucker is so cool. It is so different from your typical doggy daycare environment you have to see it for yourself. While the decor is really parky & woodsy, the best part about The Park is the Park Rangers and the care they give your dog. Ranger Rita is the owner and she leads the way in making sure your dogs are paid a lot of attention and are given great care while they are away from you. I left my dogs at The Park over Christmas and did not worry about them for a minute. I loved being able to look in on the webcam and see them running around or even napping. The Park has set a new standard for doggy daycare and boarding. The Park is the place for my dogs from now on. Pros: Good people, great place, safe & clean Cons: Can't think of any right now more
