The Ocean Lodge

I have stayed at the Ocean Lodge three times in the last seven years, always for a romantic time. Everything about this hotel is above and beyond anything I've ever seen. Our first trip there had us enjoying warm cookies in the lodge, an enormous and fresh breakfast, mere steps to the beach, and a consciencious and super friendly staff. I stay in the bungalow-style rooms, and the jetted tubs, fireplace and kitchenette are very comforting on a cool fall day. The beds are comfortable, visual layout of the rooms are aesthetically pleasing, and the gift packages offered feel carefully created, not just a bunch of things tossed in a basket. I took my girlfriend here when we first began dating a few years ago, and I have a reservation this fall when I plan to ask her to marry me. Thank you for this great place and great experiences. The Ocean Lodge was hands down the best Hotel/Lodge we've ever stayed at ~ and 5 star is the norm, not the exception for us. Location ~ right on the beach, view of Haystack Rock. Need I say more. Room, very enjoyable (not huge, but they never are in such primo locations). But what really made my stay was the Service. Everyone was SO NICE and helpful. We were there for a wedding, and a large number of us ended up staying at the Ocean Lodge. We could have driven them crazy with all our needs and wants. But all the employees there never strayed from being nice, welcoming and helpful with everything from firewood for a big bonfire for all of us (& many of our friends that stayed at OTHER hotels) to Crazy Glue when the Bride broke a nail (that poor guy had to chase us up and down the hotel to find us as we were gathering people to head over to the wedding). And it wasn't just us they were being nice to. Everyone there was treated like royalty. And our neighbors were so nice too, I think all that niceness rubbed off!! I absolutely gaurantee you will LOVE the OCEAN LODGE. p.s. don't forget to head up for the free morning Continental Breakfast. They have everything you could want, including good coffee (I'm from Seattle ~ good coffee is required). But don't eat there ~ they provide trays, fill it up, take it back to your deck overlooking the water, and enjoy breakfast in style!! Pros: LOCATION. Service!!! Beautiful building. Cons: If I HAD to come up with a con it would be the comforter cover. Not great, kind of thin (but cute). more
