I have lived at The Merrick since late May and it has been one of the most challenging and unpleasant experiences I have had in an apartment. A month into my lease, someone stole a package from in front of my door and the apt was not willing to help. In late August one of my neighbors got a dog that barked all day and all night until now, November. I complained to the leasing office who were condescending at best and failed to address the matter until I contacted their corporate office. My neighbor smoked her apt and because of the poor insulation in the building the smoke drifted into my (it is a smoke-free complex), there are no fans in the bathrooms to prevent mold and the complex is really dirty, they left dog pee in 2 stairwells for days before finally cleaning it up. It is completely unprofessional and to top it all off, if you aren't happy with the service you will be looking at $4,000 to break the lease. I wouldn't recommend renting an apartment here to anyone... I have two words that sum up The Merrick, LUXURY GHETTO. The luxury is how much they charge you and the building and staff are Ghetto.
