Excellent for a Romantic Night-Out 7/29/2007

Loved it. Loved the food, the service, and the dessert. Excellent wine list. Get a booth if you can, sitting on the center tables can be pretty crowded. Somewhat creepy when the owner tells you that the nekked woman in the painting above you is his sister. Pros: Great service, good food Cons: None more

best of the best 6/21/2005

This is absolutely the finest dining establishment in the area. The food is simply orgasmic, and the staff is ultra attentive and friendly. ask the concierge about his wine recommendations and you will find he is passionate about the subject. You will feel as if you have been transported to a romantic french chateux when you enter. Eat there once for a special occasion and you will find yourself saving your pennies and cutting back on lattes in order to return. It will ruin you for anyplace else. more

One of the best 6/15/2005

You can't (and around Detroit, WON'T) do much better than this. Very European decor (meaning you're sitting on top of the folks next to you but in a beautiful space) with one wall of glass that makes the garden seem like it's right next to you. Wonderful food--go ahead and ask for a little of everything on the appetizer trolley (yes, they wheel out a whole cart of things and serve you at your table). Attentive, knowledgeable and unobtrusive service. We both took the price fixe option--about $75--(but forgot to ask for the wine degusatation RATS) and the food was just heavenly. I was tipped over the edge at coffee time: they serve a plate of whipped cream, a small pile of ground chocolate, and some fresh orange rind. Holy cow, what a meal to remember! Pros: food, Atmosphere, service Cons: none more

Jim's Place 5/10/2005

Jim Lark does things his way and has done it well for over a quarter of a century. One of Detroit's jewels - Pros: Professional service, Supurb food, Great wine list Cons: Too much food, Reservations a must more

Very special occassion! 4/15/2004

The food, service and atmosphere were absolutely wonderful. The owners were both gracious and friendly. If we could afford it as a regular place to dine, we would visit The Lark often. Only complaint was that the table we were seated at was to close to the aisle way and the patrons next to us. Pros: Food, service., Atmosphere more

awesome dining experience 2/4/2004

The Lark is by far one of the best dining experiences in Michigan. The service and cuisine were superb and the restaurant itself was a romantic experience- highly recommended. Pros: food, wine list- extensive more
