I used to like Kidz Docs, but then our favorite doctor (Dr. Thompson) left the practice. Since then we have not been happy. Dr. Russel, I do like, but he sent us to Children's Hospital unnecessarily a number of times and at the Children's Hospital appoitnment the doctors there were actually shaking their heads saying - why were you sent here (my guess was insurance scheme? afraid of a legal matter if he misses something? who knows?). Then Dr. Arnold was actually abusive towards me. In front of my 5 year old son she implied that I was making a poor decision by being a working mom. She said that, while it may have been OK with an infant, that I would have to revisit this decision soon because it was important for a mom to be home during certain ""formative"" years. And she just offered this opinion, we were not discussing any ""issue"" that my family was having - there was no issue. I actually asked her if she had children (because she was obviously working) and she said that she began her career after her children were grown. This was not medical advice that she was giving me! It was a presonal opinion. I let my insurance company know about her, but wasn't sure what else to do. One of the worst things about Kidz Docs is that many of the nurses are inexperienced at shots (yikes!) and have terrible bedside manner. The receptionist staff is also surprisingly rude, both on the phone and in person. Lastly, it takes FOREVER for late night pages to be returned, and you rarely get a doctor, they have a triage nursing service out of some call center - so you are talking to someone that you have never met - in most cases! Really lastly, now, you can NEVER get a well appointment. They are super convenient though. One of the only doctors in Alexandria that you don't have to hop on the highway for. Still - I left the practice and am much happier at CMA, where Doctors are actually aclaimed and mentioned in journals.
Pros: Convenient Location
Cons: Rude and Unprofessional Receptionists, Some awful doctors
