Visit Julian California and stay at the Julian Hotel. It's tea time right after 4 will tempt you to jump off the Atkins train! Homemade scones and buttery delectible pastries will entice you to have yet another cup of tea.
After tea, wander around Julian toward sundown, when most of the touristas have gone back to the metro areas. At dinner time, check out the wonderful patio dining at the restaurant up the street. Go on, have that 2nd glass of wine! You will enjoy a leisurely stroll back to the hotel. Once back, with your own pass key, hang out in the parlor and meet other lodgers. Play one or a few of many games available on the shelf, or just sit and relax with a nice cup of tea.
Then, off to bed. The rooms are a bit small, but then everything was smaller in the 1800s! They are decorated in Victorian era style, with no TV.
