Customer service is a joke 2/15/2012

Went to return item in new sealed package with receipt.\r Manager was very rude and said I couldn't return it.\r Also typed my drivers license in computer and blackballed me from any home depot Store.\r \r I don't think its legal to record my info like that and I'm done with Home depot in general, all this over a $20 return. more

I want to have porcelain tiles in my 2nd floor condo. Homedepot delivers them but don't bring them in and they drop them on the side of the street or if the truck could come in the parking lot (they might not because truck is too big) they will drop them in the parking lot. They tell me what day but they don't know what time. I contacted movers, they all said I have to make reservation, they want to know the exact time. And, all cabinets have to be empty. the movers donot move the appliances and electronic even if they are unplugged! I have 2 cabinest that have earthquake strapped screwed to the wall. the installers will not unscrew them. they just move them!!! the cabinets are tall and I can't unscrew them myself. who should I hire to unscrew them? more

Scam - $97 basic carpet installation for one or more rooms. 6/4/2010

I went in to buy carpet for stairs only; I have hard wood flooring in the rest of the place. So Home depot wanted to charge me $570 total for 13 stairs! Ridiculous, they said the $97 carpet install fee was the basic fee, and had to be added although I had no other carpet to be installed aside from the stairs. They also added an additional $97 for the stairs, I said since I'm not getting any rooms carpeted for the first $97 bucks, please just apply the $97 dollars to carpeting the stairs (that are already prepped and cleaned, with the old carpet removed and discarded. They said no that the first $97 dollar charge is ""automatic"" and in the computer and cannot be changed. Apparently Home Depot can't adjust prices (even for labor that is not taking place.) One salesman said , ""the job is too small"" to adjust, another salesgirl told me ""that's just the way it is, it's in the computer"" Poor customer service with a myriad of excuses from the almost ""super pads"", to the double labor charge for much less work, all led to wasted time, a wasted $50 measure fee. All Home Depot had were excuses of why the bill was high with no explanation, besides ""automatic"" charges. Two different sales people called 3 different managers and didn't seem motivated to explain that paying almost $600 dollars for 13 stairs was absurd. I just finally went to ""Lowe's"" in Mission Valley who were happy to do the order, grand total $375. Lowe's charged the same $97 and made the additional ""stairs"" charge $00.01, yes 1 cent because they could. (Humans are actually in control of the computers and orders there. Home Depot - Fairmount was terrible, I even went to Home Depot in Lemon Grove thinking they were having a bad day at Home Depot Fairmount, same result - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME or money, learn from my lesson. I saved $200 bucks on a ""small"" job, by taking my Estimate to Lowe's. Pros: None, really not one Cons: Rude, takes long to get bad service more

better know what you are looking for and how its used 10/5/2008

The incompetence of the employees always surprises me.I can't tell you how many times I have had to load bags of concrete by myself because the employees are too busy playing grab and tickle with each other or just lack a work ethic. God forbid you have a question more

Always a great pit stop for wood. 7/6/2005

This is a fairly new opening right next to the Honda dealership. When I was looking for supplies to build my box, I made a stop here and they had everything I needed. Plenty of lumber, tools, hardware, gardening supplies, plants, and other home accessories. Lots of stuff you need to renovate your house or add some touches. This particular location is very nicely run and not too hectic as others. more

Great Stuff at Good Prices 6/15/2005

Home Depot is a great place to fill all of your home's needs. As I recently relocated from NJ/NYC area I have spent a lot of time and money at Home Depot to set up my apartment. Home Depot helped with everything from picture hangers to plants. Friendly service also. more
