Wonderful Store!!! Great Customer Service!!! 12/3/2005

I'm not a frequent shopper at The Garlic Press, but on those occasions where I needed a special gift for that special someone I have always been pleased with the variety of items to choose from. The store has an eclectic mix of both gift, food, chocolates, and cooking tools. Most importantly, in a time where customer service is often lacking, the staff goes out of its way to make sure that its customers are happy. Two thumbs up! more

The Garlic Press 10/25/2005

The Garlic Press is located in downtown Normal. There is not much parking, since it is located on a main street. They have cook books, kitchen devices, gifts and novelties and even some gourmet foods. They have a delicious selection of chocolates and even carry the Joseph Schmidt brand. That brand is hard to find in the central Illinois area. The also offer a variety of classes, from cooking to some crafts. They have recently added a cafe, also. more

Cute Items - Unprofessional Staff 9/27/2005

The cute items at the Garlic Press are the only things that keep my visiting the 1-2 times a year that I attempt to shop there. I say attempt because unless you schmooze with the workers its impossible to get any service. During a Wednesday afternoon I waited 15 minutes to be let into the jewelery case - eventually I left and shopped elsewhere. I am waiting for another store like Garlic Press to open so I can take my business there. more

Cooking is Better at Home 7/25/2005

The Garlic Press started in 1974, and has grown by leaps and bounds ever since, while still maintaining it's hometown flair. They offer a variety of cooking items for your home or for gifts. They have cooking classes, recipes, a newsletter, gift wrapping and shipping, a bridal registry, gift baskets and more. The best part is their on site cooking store with even more classes and samples to keep you coming back for more! They have everything from food, items to cook your food with, serve your food on, and decorate your cooking and eating areas with. They even carry hand crafted jewelry and easy fit relaxed clothing for the cook/garden enthusiast. A playland is located in the store to allow children to play while parents shop, and a selection of items both for children and to get children interested in cooking are offered. Organic bath soaps, salts and other relaxing items are for sale as well. more
