The Citadel museum is on the campus of the Citadel at the library. You might want to call ahead for hours. You will see many diplays of military life from the past to the present. It is a great place to visit and would be a wonderful side trip for an afternoon in Charleston when you have a little time to visit an attraction and don't need all day. You can easily see it in an hour or so and then be off to another activity downtown. A most unique musuem. I believe it is still free but you might want to check when you call for hours.
