The Children's House At St. Joseph's/Candler

The Children's House is located on the hospital campus. I am not a doctor, a doctor's wife, or even a hospital employee. At enrollment I was just a mom who wanted my child to attend Pre-school.\r By luck, I found Children's House, had a very through tour, and by far it was the best that I had seen. They were very warm, kind, and friendly. I enrolled him in the Pre-K program. They had orientation before they started which was a great way to meet the teacher’s and ask any questions, and believe me, I must have asked the most out of everybody that day. \r Since enrolling him, I started taking classes myself and needed before and after school care. They didn't have a slot available, so he went on a waiting list. Without me even asking they kept me informed and always gave me updates. My son now goes to before and after school care, depending on the day. \r My child has to go to therapy twice a week and they are more than accommodating to help me. If I am running late they will bring him to the front desk, but not only his teacher but the staff also helps him with his disability and this was without me asking. The only people I did ask were his teachers.\r I cannot express to you how awesome, loving, kind, and so many more words that the staff is. This along with my other child’s middle school was my first experience with learning facilities in Chatham County, and without any doubts, I know I have made the right decision.\r Before you read my review, or the other reviews that are very negative, go to the school and find out for you. Don't let a person's bad or good experience decide where your child goes. Being a regular user of Angie's List, it seems like people only make reviews when they are not happy.\r more

I HIGHLY recommend TCH! The directors are kind - the teachers care for the children and the children are happy. You will never find a perfect daycare - but TCH goes above and beyond my expectations. I have been looking for a good QUALITY day care and I found it. The tour was informative. My first day I cried leaving my child - the director called me several times to give me updates to let me know my child was laughing and having a good day. I came early to pick her up and she as having a GREAT time. On the way home she talked and talked about her teachers and friends. The director was compassionate and has made me feel safe leaving my child. I have friends who have had the same experience. I came to TCH by word of mouth and I am so happy I did!!!! I have heard nothing but positive things from the other parents...If you want quality compassionate care RUN to TCH more

The Children's House is set on the campus of Candler Hospital. Many of the employees of the hospital utilize the daycare/preschool services that are offered. I was one of these people. Let me first say that if your child is not a Doctor's or Hospital Administrator's child, prepare your child for substandard treatment. They WILL be treated like second class citizens. When I first went to enroll my child in The Children's House, I was up front and honest about my child. I told them that he was diagnosed with high functioning Autism. I wanted to make sure that they were okay with having a ""special needs"" child, and also that they were equipped to handle anything that may come with that. They assured me they were. There most definitely were NOT. They called me on an everyday basis to tell me how horrible my child was. It was not my child, it was them. Their treatment of him was the cause of the problem. As soon as I removed him and placed in a different daycare (also regular ed) he was fine. He NEVER got behavior complaints, whereas in TCH I was getting daily calls. Please, research your daycare and preschool choices thoroughly. This place is not for you! Unless of course you are a Doctor or Administrator at the hospital on campus. more

If you love your child please do not enroll them in this daycare center. The Children's House Savannah, GA...This is not a great daycare and has been under investigation by Department of Family and Children Services and the police department. Since these documents are of public record, you are able to view the police reports filed. There are also many complaints filed by various parents with the State of Ga (Bright from the Start). Please contact Bright from the Start to ask for complaints as well. Horrible School!!!!!!
