The Brewery has been through some changes over the past few years, and now seems to be the epicenter of all things hardcore/metal in Raleigh, although I've caught some jam-band, indie-rock, hip-hop, and even a break-dancing contest here as well. The space itself is pretty small, with a stage that juts out of one corner, and if you're short or stuck in the back, it can sometimes be hard to see what's happening onstage. Drinks are pretty reasonably priced. One caution: parking can be a nightmare if school is in session. Overall, not a bad place, and an easy walk from NCSU campus.
