Ever heard of a vegan bakery? Well this is an actual vegan bakery and I think it is one of a kind. Their desserts are all so delicious, its hard to believe it is all vegan. They don't limit themselves to just desserts, they have pot pies and other sandwhiches for lunch or dinner. However, not everything on their menu is vegan, but everything is really tasty and fresh. The bakery itself is really pink, you will feel the sweetness rush through you just as you enter. more

Don't Get Me Started 3/10/2006

This place is awesome, so make the trip. Their lemon bars are a bit much, but you will be thinking about them at home that night wondering why you didn't bring some back with you. Mostly everything in this place was put together using locally grown produce, and you can taste it. You get an immediate comfort just walking into this place. The people who work there are cool and calm. It is a relaxing place where you can get rid of the hustle for ten minutes. more

Bleeding Heart Bakery 3/5/2006

This bakery offers every thing good about life. Sweet treats that are beautiful and delicious, and SURPRISE All Organic! They also make some very good vegan and vegetarian specialties. The vegan lemon bar is absolutely to die for. Bleeding Heart is a proud supporter of local farmers and use all produce that was grown in Illinois. So, as the season changes so does their selection. The people are wonderful and the place is very artfully designed. The prices are moderate. I cannot afford 12 dollars for a loaf of zucchini bread, although I know it would be delicious. You can try many goodies for under 5 dollars. They can make specialty cakes for any occasion. Food is their art and they are truly experts. more

An original bakery- you can't miss it... 1/28/2006

...because it's bright pink, with bubbly letters on the outside. I wrote it off as sorta hipster, but I went in and it was much more...bakery- straightforward bakery- than anything else. The pastries are very reasonably priced (and decorated in frosting and papers that make you smile) and absolutely delicious. A nice variety, and samples, to boot! I recommend the chocolate cookie or the pumpkin cupcakes...go in, it's quite a treat! more
