Bierocks (the correct spelling, by the way) are of German-Prussian, or Prussian-German (you say potato, I say spud) origin. I grew up in Russell, Kansas, which has a large G-P influence. More importantly, Russell had Simpson?s Bakery, makers of the largest and finest bierocks on the planet. As a teenager, I consumed more than my fair share of these 1-pound gut-busting delicacies. Why is all of this significant to this writing? The Berrock Shop caused the most vivid flashback of my life! Their bierocks, save for the size and price, were so close to Simpson?s bierocks, I was stunned! I?ve tried several bierocks from numerous bakeries, festivals and fairs, but they never really compared to those of my youth. The Berrock Shop filled this void in splendid fashion. Their other fares, salads and deserts are of equal quality, which explains the standing room only situation at lunchtime.\r
