Raised in the north and receiving her undergraduate degree in Minnesota, Brook Anderson headed to Spain for a year of Hispanic studies at the University of Barcelona. Then onto New Orleans for her Doctorate in Law from Loyola school of Law, where she also earned an International law certificate, clerked for a Family Court Judge and interned for a criminal defense attorney through the Public Defenders office. Directly out of law school Anderson was hired by the State of Florida as an Assistant States Attorney and relocated to Miami, a city that had played an important role in her childhood memories. She excelled at Criminal law and trial skills, and was an "A" Felony" prosecutor within three years of joining the Miami-Dade department. During her five year tenure she tried many cases on the misdemeanor level, DUI's, Juvenile Law, all felonies and eventually was hand selected for the Traffic Homicide division.
