The Acropolis is one of my favorite places to eat at in downtown Belleville. It has inexpensive, but great, meals.
It is owned by a Greek family, and obviously therefore serves Greek food.
The selection of food is quite large. They have gyros, deluxe Greek salads, Greek country salads, shish kebab plates, pastistio plates, mazithra pasta plates, souvlaki plates, and much more. They also carry some items on the menu that aren't Greek for kids who don't like the Greek food.
There are also specials everyday.
They also have a selection of deserts which includes baklava, kourabiethes (Greek wedding cookies) and koulourakia (Greek Easter cookies).
You can eat at the counter on stools, in a booth or at a table inside, or, if the weather permits, at a table outside.
The inside of the Acropolis's walls are lined with black and white photos of the family that immigrated to America.
In the background, Greek music plays to set the mood.
Overall, this place is definently one of the best places I've found downtown, and I hope it'll become one of yours.
