Recently, my wife and I attended the Opie Gone Bad show at The Soiled Dove Underground (below Tavern Lowry), but decided to eat dinner upstairs before hand. I had been to The Soiled Dove before for a friends party, but had never been to the restaurant upstairs. \r
When we arrived, there was a short wait, but soon we were seated at a table in the main dining room. We ordered a few glasses of wine, before looking over the menu. They came out very quickly along with a jug of water and two small glasses. I really like to see restaurants that take the initiative of leaving water on your table, so you can refill it as much as you need to. We ordered dinner - I got the Duck Enchiladas, my wife got the Pan Roasted Salmon. Both were absolutely delicious! For a ""Tavern"" atmosphere, they really do an outstanding job on their menu and food service. After we ate we ordered a piece of carrot cake, which was equally as good. \r
Once we finished eating, we ventured down the staircase to The Soiled Dove below to go to the show. Our tickets were at will call and we had to wait for a moment behind several people in line, but soon enough we got in and found our seats at our table. The concert was not very crowded, and our server came to our table write away for orders. She informed us that the ""Musical Note Lights"" attached to the top of the table are to be used for ordering drinks or food. There is a little switch that turns on a red light so the server knows when you are ready to order - Great Idea!! The drinks downstairs were a bit more expensive than up in the restaurant, but no more so than when I have gone to the Paramount Theater or others. The concert was great and ended up leaving before the band had finished, so I don't even know how late they go till. I'd say all in all, this was a terrific evening and my wife and I will definitely be back again very soon.
Pros: Great Food - Duck Enchiladas!!
