Taste of Brazil used to be my favorite restaurant. My fiance and i would go a few times a month when we lived close to that restaurant about 1 1/2yrs ago. Its a little pricey, but it was worth every single penny. Then we moved away. We were actually going to go last summer. I called to make sure they were still open, they were actually remodelling and were to be reopened a couple weeks later.\r
I came up on a fantastic coupon for ""Taste of Brazil"" a couple weeks ago. Score!! My fiance and i decided to go last wknd. We walked in and everything had changed. No more t.v.'s. White linen table clothes and white linen napkins that lined the waiters beverage tray. Fine with us, as long as the food and service is the same who cares. The only thing that we noticed that was the same was the bar, but no one was seated there. \r
The food at the salad bar was not your typical food served at ""Churrascaria's"" or what was served here in the past. Not much to choose from as well. The choice of meats was fewer than the past. The meats that were brought out on skewers were done so at a pace of about every 5 minutes. A few times the servers walked right passed us without even asking if we wanted the meat they had, even tho we had our disk with ""green"" facing up. Before they would come by so fast i couldnt keep track of what was just put down in front of me a minute ago. I honestly had about 5 different pieces of meat then i was full. Eat,sit and wait was the motto for the evening. \r
My fiance's drink was empty for about 15 minutes before our waiter came up to ask ""me"" if i wanted my water topped off, not noticing my fiances drink, i had to let him know we needed more than just ""my"" drink. \r
For the price you pay,i wonder if they make the service of the food incredibly slow so you fill up faster and they save on the meat? Good way to make alot of money while saving on food i guess? \r
Then after sitting there with our plates cleared waiting for our bill, i finally had to ask after 20 minutes for it. It was amusing at first at how aweful everything was,but then it just turned to absurd. I am not one to complain but it was horrible. The waiter brought out a drink to us that was for another table instead of our bill, so i had to remind him again we were still waiting for the bill. Pretty sad service considering there were only 4 tables with 2 waiters. \r
So even tho we saved with our coupon, we will never ever go back. We will just make the drive to San Francisco to the one there. I have been to a few Churrascaria's. My fiance has been to some in Brazil as well. I am embarassed for this restaurant. I think as a first timer going here, you may think the food is good,but i swear the service and the speed of the food that gets brought out is not supposed to be like this. I will never go back to this one. Its a shame.... \r
