I ate at Tartufo last night, and I was appalled by the horrendous service we received. It took us well over an hour to get our food. After about 40 minutes, I asked the waiter if it was coming out, and he said that they would be bringing it out any moment. Half an hour later, we finally received our main courses, which were stone cold by that point. The restaurant was far from busy, so that's not an excuse. Also, bear in mind that our dishes were not hard to make - penne with meatballs and veal scallopini (I've made that dish at home, it took me 25 minutes, and it tasted a lot better than what we were served). By that time, I was so upset by the service that I had lost much of my appetite. After finishing the substandard meal, I asked for the cheque, which took them another 15 minutes, even though I told them that we were in a hurry. I was surprised to see that two main courses, a glass of wine and a coke came out to be $60. The penne alone was $22, an exorbitant amount to pay for such a dish. I left no tip, and after we left, the waiter came running out after us, asking us why we stiffed him. I told him it was pretty obvious, since other than to take our order and bring us our food and check, he never once came and asked us if we needed more drinks or if everything was alright, nor did he tell us that the kitchen would take so long with our dishes.\r

I am never going to be eating there again.
