Best Dive Shop In Florida! Hands down!!\r \r Pros:\r * Dive Shop is 20 ft. from Dive Boat.\r * Monty's, a Tiki themed waterfront restaurant is next door for after the dive.\r * Best Prices for gear & rentals, and I bought all my equipment here so far.\r * Their rental equipment is not from the 80's like most places.\r * They fill my tanks as I wait in 5 mins flat\r * They have fixed my reg before for $19 when I was expecting it to be over $100\r * They know their stuff, they are not expensive and they are quick and easy. What other business in Miami can you say that about? none\r \r Cons:\r I cant think of one single thing to say bad.\r \r I didn't get certified here but at another shop in miami beach but I wish i had. When I found out about them I was really amazed. The level of knowledge and expertise is mind blowing. They also really want to help you. They love diving themselves and its family run so they really don't care if you come to browse or just ask questions if your even thinking of taking up the sport. I send all my friends here now. great people, The tall pretty blonde, Val and Jake both are so nice they make me feel like family.\r Besides them knowing everything and being so nice, their dive shop is the only one right on the water. You rent your equipment and walk 15 feet to the dive boat. No lugging stuff all over the place. I purchased 4 sets of equipment from them so far and they have always been the lowest price, so now I don't even price shop anymore. I wish I did my Padi through them but I will do my advanced through them soon and my Nitrox. Also, Monty's is the next door over so I can always get a bite to eat after a good dive. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could! Great respectable shop, a rare find in Miami. more

Best Dive Shop in South Florida! 11/29/2011

Best Dive Shop in South Florida!\r \r I am a diver master with over 150 dives at year and this is my favorite shop in Miami. Located ten steps from the marina and the boat, with a knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful staff.\r \r Store, classroom, pool, & boat dock all together in the same location, and most important FREE PARKING. After the dive u can enjoy a beer or food in a near locations (is the same building) with nice music and south beach beauties.. The dives sites are many between wrecks and reefs for any certification levels and preference. The boat is one the best type of boat in the industry (Newton 47) and can allow over 40 divers with plenty of space.\r \r Don't let bad review with not fundament stop you to check this shop, because is very well administrate and friendly ambient (like a family).\r \r One of the best qualities is: most of the divers in this shop are local and u can find good friends and see them again in the next dives to create a friendship and a buddy trust....\r \r more

Best Dive Shop in Miami! 10/6/2011

I am a local diver and this is my favorite shop in Miami. They have a convenient marina location with a knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful staff. Its the only shop in Miami with the dive shop, classroom, pool, & boat dock all together in the same location with free parking and a cool waterfront tiki/raw bar next door! The diving is second to none and reefs they frequent are vibrant and colorful. Cant wait to go back! I guess some people will just complain no matter what... Don't let these unfounded complaints discourage you from discovering Miami's best dive shop. Come out and decide for yourself! I love Tarpoon Lagoon and know from experience it is the best around. more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! 3/24/2010

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS COMPANY!!! The staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional. They didn't even show up to an appointment I set with them and I wasted a trip out there. There are too many scuba certification companies in South Florida to waste your time on this kind of terrible service. Save yourself the hassle and stress and go somewhere else. You will regret ever taking classes or doing any kind of business with Tarpoon Lagoon. Cons: Rude and unprofessional staff more

mediocre 2/1/2010

I got certified as a scuba diver here, and did not feel I was getting adequate professional attention. The instructor was distracted, and the when we went out on the boat we had to wait 1 1/2 hours from when we were told to show up (7 am) until we actually took off, because they crammed the boat with so many other late-comers (around 50 divers altogether). Given the price I paid for the course, I did not feel this was appropriate. Finally, at the end of the course, the instructor did not even have time to tell me the info on our diving location for my diving book, because he was in such a hurry to go with another group. I would not recommend this facility for getting certified. Pros: easy location Cons: unprofessional more

Great SCUBA diving store in Miami Beach. Knowledgeable & friendly staff. 5/22/2008

Having dived in locations around the world, I found the staff at the Tarpoon Dive Center to be amongst the most knowledgeable and friendly that I have met. It doesn't hurt that they have over 50 years combined experience in the industry and dive for pleasure in their spare time.\r \r The dives in Miami Beach vary from reefs that compare to (or they would say exceed!) the beauty of those in the Florida Keys, to the wrecks of freighters sunk long ago by the US Coast Guard. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and diversity of what was available. Tarpoon charters to a 49-ft Newton dive boat that is very comfortable in all but the worst weather, or on the busiest of days!\r \r I have dived with Tarpoon on many occasions and will continue to do so on my regular visits to Miami Beach. Pros: Staff experience, Knowledge, Products. Cons: Can get busy at peak times. more
