I cannot say enough about my experience at Tango. Service was excellent from the moment my wife and I stepped in. The host was professional and courteous, the waitress was attentive and knowledgable.\r The restaurant was full on a Wednesday night (always a good sign).\r My churasco steak was out of this world. My wife too was impressed with her filet mignon.\r We had a question about selecting a bottle of wine and the owner came over and helped us pick one that went with our selection.\r Overall, if you haven't been here already - you don't know what you're missing. As a long time resident of Arlington, I looked forward to trying out the Tango Restaurant. I walked in at 6:00pm on this past Saturday and was greeted by a well dressed gentleman in a white jacke...t and pants and asked to be seated. He looked around at a half empty restaurant and responded that he had no available tables but he may have in in about 45 minutes. I left the establishment knowing that I would not return in 45 years lest 45 minutes. I understand the econimics of seating one person versus the potential to seat 2 or perhaps 4 but I view this treatment as short sighted since not only would I not return but am compelled to write this review as an example of the kind of treatment you can expect at the Tango restaurant. After leaving the Tango, I walked up the street to Risorante Olivio and asked to be seated. Without hesitation, I was greated pleasantly, seated at a window seat, received excellent service had a wonderful meal and left within 40 minutes.\r \r To the owner of the Tango Restaurant, I recommend that he remind the gentleman who greeted me to treat patrons to his establishment as well as he was dressed. more

Made reservation one day in advanced. Got there 10 mins early. Waited in line for 1.5 hours from the time of reservation. The host was horrible. Very unorganized. Seating people out of turn. The food was on the salty side. Desserts were great. Complaint to the owner. He did not care. He said ""see the long line that I have"" and walked away. The waiter came over and throw the check at us. There was three of us and the bill came to $165.00. Not even a ""Thank you"". Will never go back. Pros: Liked the location Cons: Rude wait staff. As someone who enjoys dining at Tango, I'd like to clarify on the dessert mentioned by another reviewer. The dessert served at Tango is a traditional flan con dulce de leche, Argentine-style. The flan's texture is authentic, as is the dulce de leche that accompanies it--a very thick caramel that is delicious. A dollop of this is served on the side, as a perfect accompaniment to the flan. The New Year's Eve prix fix meal offered a good variety of selections. For our appetizer we had their wonderfully light, flaky empanadas. These are small meat or vegetable filled little pocket pies. Generous fillings, amazing crusts. A MUST! Salad came with an unexpected surprise of 3 grilled shrimp on the plate. It had an assortment of fresh greens and sliced tomatoes, paper thin sliced red onions, and a (too small) dab of delicious mustard vinegarette. The mushroom soup almost seemed canned? I give them the benefit of a doubt. The swordfish was grilled nicely and just a bit dry. The marinade/sauce was pleasantly lemon with a tasty zing to it. My Medallon of Filet mignon with pimienta sauce was off-the-charts excellent! It was served very thick, perfectly medium-rare in a wonderful buttery, black pepper corn sauce. They provide beautifully tooled steak knives. The filet was so tender you could cut if with a fork with a perfect balance of firmness on the outside and silkiness on the inside. This was one of the best I've ever had. The Tango fries (similar to scalloped potatoes but without a sauce) were slightly crispy, mostly tender, nicely seasoned. Nice with the filet. The colorful roasted vegetables were firm and full of flavor. Dessert offered a small slice of dark chocolate cake in dark chocolate frosting. Just okay. I had the flan (a very popular Latin custard-like dessert with a caramel sauce). Just like the creme brule I recently had at another local restaurant, this flan failed. The custard was curdled with a scrambled-egg-like texture, A BIG NO-NO! It's supposed to be smooth and glassy. The caramel sauce was low on flavor. But, they added a glob of some other kind of caramel on top that was thick like peanut butter and you couldn't dip into it on its own. You had to push it off to the side of the plate and struggle with it to get a small bite. I would think twice about dessert . I still recommend Tango. The empanadas, the steak, and sides, tops! Although I am not originally from Argentina, I have already been twice in Buenos Aires and I a big fan of argentinian food, particullary with their beef. For those who are not familiar with this kind of south american cuisine, Argentina has a big italian influence (most of argentinians are italian descendents) and lots of EXCELLENT BEEF (you could imagine the country like a huge farm full of cows). Therefore, me and my husband went to Tango craving for meat. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, particularly when you listen Carlos Gardel's tangos on the entrance (something very characteristic from Buenos Aires). The place is very small and we strongly recommend to make reservations. We saw a lot of people waiting in a very tight space, so don't bother to go on a Saturday night if you have not made reservations. The place is going to be packed! About the food, you can understand right away why the place is so full, the food is EXCELLENT. We ordered the parrillada for two. This is a very typical south american dish (if I can call it a dish). It constists in a whole grill, with chicken, beef, pork and ribs, that is brought to your table. It is specially ""designed"" for meat lovers, like us. Although the parrillada has interiors (like kidneys), if this is not very appealling to you, you can replace them for something else. In our order, we replaced the interiors for entranas, which is a very characteristic cut (don't know the translation, sorry). The meat melts in your mouth and it's absolutely delicious. We ate so much meat that we did not have a chance to try anything else. About hygiene, the whole restaurant was very clean and the kitchen was visible from the table and also looked very clean, which gives me more confidence about what I am eating. The food is excellent. They always have really yummy vegetable side dishes. I always like to order the fried potatoes, which are crispy and tender. The milanese beef dishes are really good. Pros: very tasty food, cozy atmosphere Cons: small overall seating space more

My boyfriend and I went to Tango because we're traveling to Buenos Aires in a few weeks and wanted a sneak preview of the cuisine. We were not disappointed. The entire experience was wonderful: from the moment we walked in the door, our waiter was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant owner even stopped by our table to say hello. The wine was very good (try the Malbec--Argentina's signature wine), and the food was out of this world. I had the best filet mignon that I've ever had in Boston, and--believe it or not--my vegetarian boyfriend had a delicious meal as well. There are a surprising number of vegetarian dishes, so he was very happy to have a variety of items to choose from. more

I've been here about 4 times now and everytime has been a great experience. The wines are great! The parillada and churasco are a meat lovers dream. The bread before the meal with chimichurri sauce is quite tasty. Everytime I've been there the staff has been quick, attentive, and very courteous. The beef Milanaisa was extremely tender and flavorful. The empanadas were good (fried not baked). The ribs, chicken, and chorizo are extremely good. I only have 2 complaints: The last time I had parillada para dos, the beef was a bit too fatty (though it was very tender). The molleja (sp?) was amazing on my first trip, but the last two times I've had it, it was over cooked. Overall a great place that I will return to frequently. What was to do a nice quiet anniv. turned out to be the poorest excuse for service ever heard of. This was not the fault of the kitchen or the wait staff but ownership/management of Tango. The main course, skirt steak was of a strange texture and favor, it was returned for a different entree, which was excellent, as was all the apps. and drinks. We we informed by the server that it would be returned and exchanged, but that we would be charged for both items. After some discussions with the server, and NEVER ONCE did the manager or owner come and talk with us, did we finish our meal and sadly leave what could have been a lovely restuarant. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The service prompt. The food was well prepared and very flavorful, satisfying to our palate. We all enjoyed our gustatory experience and are waiting to take the family for dinner. The assortment of beers did not include argentinian favorites, however the brews offered were good. The beef was good. However, the rice & veggies left much to be desired. The tables are too close to each other which makes it hard for the staff to get around. I will certainly go back soon to try some other dishes. more

If you are a steak lover, then you are in heaven here. They serve good portion of steak at a reasonable price. The place is cozy, but a little bit too tight. So, you might have to wait for a while. Argentinean restaurant in town, i could not wait to check it out. Tango is an excellent place for authentic Argentinean food. The mixed meat grill ""parrillada"", was out of this world. The ""chimichurri"" sauce brought back memories from Argentina. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon which was cooked perfectly and very satisfying. The experience was tainted by bad service. Whatever merit I could have given the food, the service took away from it. The waiter was inattentive after he dropped off our food. The filet was not cooked properly; we had to hunt him down to take it backs. The meal and evening was essentially over by the time the dish came back. We asked him to take the dish off our bill, and he demanded to take the dish back and snatched it from our table. Blatant shocking rudeness! I would never go back. Warm welcome upon arrival by owner, Ricardo. Great overall feel and authentic Argentine selections from the menu like mollejas (sweet breads) and provoleta (grilled provolone cheese) along with varied cuts of beef. Decent and reasonably priced wine list with focus on Argentine wines. Nice place, cozy, great food and great service. Welcome addition to Arlington.
