Most AWESOME place to call HOME! 7/28/2010

The comminity is friendly. Residents are helpful and the pool, volly ball pit, and soccer field are a blast to meet others. The staff is professional. The management staff loaned me the office toaster when mine broke. Carloyn Davies accompanied me to my Business Management class and spoke to the class on the importance of accurate contracts in business. I made an A+ thanks to her willingness to be kind and helpful! The annual pool party has free food, prizes, and gift tickets to the near by comedy club, Life is GOOD at Tall Oaks and the community ROCKS! Pros: Great Apartments, area lakes, safe, friendly! Cons: Cold walking to parking lot. more

Terrible Apartments 9/3/2008

I was very dissapointed with Tall Oaks Apartments. The dishwasher, garbage dissposal, sliding glass door all broke within the first two months of living there, and when we talked to the manager at the apartment they had a terrible attitude towards us. And when we gave notice to the office that we had come across some silverfish and cockroches, they advised us that they wouldn't be by to spray for three more weeks. Then when they so called ""sprayed"" they apartment, they sprayed two corners and left.\r I have nothing good to say towards tall oaks, we cant even get in contact with the owner and find out a name for that, and when we asked to talk to the manager of the apartments and were told that we couldnt get her name either. The lease we signed if being held against us and Tall Oaks has broken several of the kansas fair housing laws.\r I would not recomend living there. Pros: close to WSU Cons: everythingelse. more

Iffy 7/14/2008

I have been here for 6 months and really liked the place for the most part it's nothing special but OK for me. I have a 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath.\r \r Problems that I have had: I hear my neighbors occasionally and only becomes a problem when they fight or play music loudly. There has been a incident where a Guy was going to each apt asking for money but when turned down and asked to leave did. It was rather creepy and don't know if I would live here if I had kids or if my Fiance didn't stay as much as he does. The gate to access the apartment is half the time not working so the place isn't as secure as they have promised. The parking lot is not lit and could be a problem at night. The pool is nice but is filled with cotton all the time and they do nothing about it. The pool just happens to be positioned next to the cotton wood tree they say. There is a bath room for the pool but when trying to go you have to walk around in the building because they have the door locked at all times. This makes it inconvenient for kids to have to use the bathroom. There is a work out room available during the day but really could only accommodate for one person at a time if wanting to use the same machine. The laundry room has OK washers and dryers but not nearly as many as they claim and only 1/3 of them work and it's a trial and error to figure out which ones do. The carpet in the apartment is nice at move in but would suggest before putting anything in it that you must clean them yourself because if anything even water is spilled the dirt comes up to surface where they ""cleaned"" it. The management *Caroline Davies* was rude and belittling when addressing my problems. She acted like I was stupid and was only there to make extra money. \r \r So would I recommend this place probably but with the knowledge of only speaking with Saundra and not having kids or a single girl living here because can be scary and dangerous at night. If you do make sure to carry mase. Pros: Cost of aparment, okay living facility, maintnace was great! Cons: Management, Parking Area, Laundry, Carpets and bad during a rain storm! more

I used to live in tall oaks and all I have to say is read your contract really well because when they explain it to you they leave out very important details. Like if your lease is up in March you better make sure you give them a WRITTEN notice 30 days in advance that states you are going to be leave when your lease is up other wise if you don't you are charged month to month. They leave alot of little things out like that so that they can make more money, mostly off of college students, and so they can keep your deposit. Pros: Pool and hot tub Cons: If one bathroom in the complex backs up they all do, location, parking is too close together, not all light swithes worked more

Bad Service 10/4/2006

When living there, we found that the managers did not care if we needed something fixed. Our electricity bill was outrageous because they wouldn't come fix our air conditioner. They didn't do our final walk through with us, and we were charged for re-carpeting the entire apartment, when we only had a bleach stain in the back bedroom. Overall, I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. We are glad that we don't live there anymore. more

Very Unhappy 2/7/2005

This apartment was great until I needed something done or needed to talk with anyone. They are the most unprofessional people working in this office, I once heard one of the employees actually calling a customer names and then said he didn't really care whether she stayed or not, that she could just leave. I would never recommend anyone to live here, purely for the lack of professionalism of the managers part. Pros: landscape, location Cons: employees, professionalism, overall attitude more
